When you think
of May you think
of flowers, sun,
Mother’s Day &
camping in your
RV.
After checking the calendar, I found out that
there are many more special days in May.
May 1 - May Day,
May 27 - Memorial Day,
May 5 - Cinco de Mayo
May 2 - National Day of Prayer
May 12 - Armed Forces Day
May 9 - Lost Sock Memorial Day,
and May 11 - Eat What You Want Day
Other things you do in May are plant your gar-
den, go to car shows, view the Tulip and Iris
Gardens and visit your mom if she is still with
you. Mine is: she is 100 years old and doing
very well. Sorry this Drifter is late. I have been
in charge of Jefferson’s May Festival of Flowers
and it has kept me extremely busy. Maybe
next month the calendar will slow down.

OREGON GOOD SAM STILL NEEDS YOUR HELP
IF YOU DON’T SEE YOUR AREA OF EXPERTISE (BECAUSE I SOMETIMES FORGET THINGS)
JUST GIVE ME A CALL.
1. Shuttle Drivers - Caren Farber is the Driver in Chief but she needs lots of help.
2. Cookie Greeters - Meet the rigs as they stop at the entrance gate waiting to park. Say hi - how was you
trip? - and best of all -- How about a cookie while you wait? The McKenzie River Drifters are baking the
cookies. All the Greeters need to do is Smile, Meet, Greet and hand the guest a cookie.
3. Registration Table. Registration is by “The Two Joyces” this year. Call Joyce Davis to be placed on the
Helper List 503-852-6928 Experienced and Newbee helpers will be very appreciated.
4. Sound Team coordinated by Wayne Swanson 503-510-4746 Many hands make this important work a
much easier task
5. Doughnut Team -- This Team is for early risers. Where else will you get to see most all Good Sammers ?
This is an opportunity to greet everyone with your best smile as you hand their doughnut of choice.
Joyce Dart will not be there this year so we need someone to take her place of honor.
6. FUN NIGHT is Thursday evening. Pam Kundert is asking for game prizes. The prizes do not have to be
camping related. They can be homemade or purchased. Only rule: No food items.
7.
THAT’ S ALL FOR NOW --- PLEASE CALL AND SIGN UP --DEE 541-913-6994
Last year Douglas County changed the reservation policy at their RV Park. Whether or not the
Park is full, Oregon Good Sam has to pay for all the spaces.
Something to think about: Are you attending Rally but staying somewhere other than at the Douglas
County RV Park or within the Fairgrounds? Staying at the Douglas County RV Park at the Fairgrounds
will help Oregon Good Sam cover the expenses of the Rally. Please consider our request. Contact Joyce
Davis if you choose to use the RV Park at 503-852-6928. For a few extra dollars she can tell you how to
switch your RV spot from ‘on grounds’ to the RV Park. The RV Park form is on the OGS web site:
oregongoodsam.com.

TERRY Hello again!
Just a short reminder that the Saturday Night Show is indeed shaping up. So good to see
the enthusiasm of members who enjoy sharing their talent and gifts by entertaining us!
Again, the theme is “Thanks for the Memories” as we remember previous acts in the show
and new ones that cause us to have thankfulness in remembering music that stirs our hears.
We still have room for more singers, dancers, skitters, joke and story tellers that cause us to
remember our past. If you have a funny story of Samborees in the past we could have an
open mike for sharing! (Just thought of that!) But, you must let me know now so I can plan.
Choraliers, I’m so looking forward to seeing you! I think you will enjoy the music I’ve select-
ed for us. Remember, we practice at noon for 1 hour only on Wednesday through Friday.
And, may have a short dress rehearsal on Saturday if schedule permits.
Invite your friends to join us or remind previous singers as you see them at the Rally. Men,
we love you too! Come sing with us. Only requirement for anyone is that you can carry a
tune!
Thank you for your past support and participation. Our 50th Anniversary is a very good rea-
son to participate again!
