functionality is a complete redesign of the implementationof large
object (LOB storage in Oracle 11g! The original LOB storage"

but the S')RF&L$ey#ord enables the ne# storage method" #hich
allo#s encryption forsecurity and space sa*ings using compression
and deduplication!

The SecureFile functionality is a*ailable once the
'O-,%T&BLinitiali+ation parameter is set to 11!.!.!.!. or
higher!
The DB/S')RF&L initiali+ation parameter controls the default
action ofthe database #ith regards to LOB storage! The allo#able
*alues are0
%L%2S 3 %ll LOBs in %SS- tablespaces are created as SecureFile
LOBs! LOBsin non3%SS- tablespaces are created as BasicFile LOBs
unless e4plicitlyspecified as SecureFiles! BasicFile storage
options are ignored" andSecureFile default storage options are used
for any unspecified options!
