They are awarded on academic merit and open to all students enrolled in the Foundation Year. Scholarships are available in the disciplines of Arts, Economics, IT & Electrical Engineering, Social and Behavioural Sciences, Nursing/Midwifery and Pharmacy (bursary). THE FOUNDATION YEAR PROGRAM

Foundation Year students undertake English language instruction, acquire the necessary skills for tertiary study in Australia, and have access to UQ’s modern facilities. Students select five academic subjects, including Academic English for University Studies and Mathematics with electives in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Information Technology, Behavioural Science, Research and Architecture. Students receive a high standard of instruction from experienced and qualified teachers and helpful tutors.

Students are welcomed into a family atmosphere and encouraged to participate in an extensive student recreational program. The alumni network builds friendships and ensures students have fun and enjoy their time studying in Australia.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Entry to the Foundation Year is determined by English language proficiency and academic performance.

• English language proficiency of IELTS 5.0 (minimum for Standard PLUS Program) – Pre-entry English language courses in Australia can be arranged for applicants who do not meet the required level of proficiency.
