Summary

The simple fact: Avaya is the informed choice for Convergence-friendly networking solutions

20©2010 Avaya, Inc. All rights reserved.

Proven Performance in 3rd Party Testing

Secure Router maintains wire-speed performance with QoS, ACLs & NAT enabled..

– even with small packets

– Cisco is nowhere near line rate for any packet size

With small packet sizes, Avaya offers a massive performance throughput advantage (4.5X)

– Secure Router is able to utilize 92% of the available bandwidth compared to just 20% with the Cisco 2821 ISR (over 8xT1)

SR 3120: 2X throughput of the Cisco 3825

Greater than 4X throughput of the Cisco 2821 over a point-to-point DS3

Greater than 4X the throughput of Cisco 2821 over eight point-to-point T1s

2 to 4X performance advantage over Cisco!2 to 4X performance advantage over Cisco!

Branch Router Competitive Landscape

Market leader but products are complex with high TCO Products make use of proprietary features (e.g., EIGRP)

that lock customers into an all-Cisco network, despite the impression of openness.

Limited interoperability with other vendor’s UC & voice products

Cisco: ISR 1800/2800/3800 Branch Routers, & recently-

introduced ISR G2 1900/2900/3900

HP has recently acquired Branch Router portfolio from 3Com/H3C…but has no real experience with Routers

3Com has limited credibility & presence in NA & Europe Branch Router market

Market penetration mainly limited to China

HP/3Com: 3Com MSR 20/30/50 Branch Routers

Limited enterprise presence with their Branch Routers J-Series lacks in-house Voice Gateway capability–

currently only resells Avaya’s IG550 product No UC hosting capability – a la SR 4134 with SCS

Juniper: J-Series 2300, 4300 & 6300
