SECURE, AUTOMATE AND CONTROL YOUR INVENTORY

Five challenges that every manufacturing leader will relate to, and want to change.

52

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT STREAMLINE, DISPENSE AND MONITOR YOUR IMPORTANT ITEMSBY THE NUMBERSWhen it comes to managing consumable and returnable items used in the manufacturing process, there is a lag between old ways of doing business and the use of evolving technology to find greater efficiency. Attitudes like “We’ve always done it that way” are slowly giving way to a more tech-savvy approach, but not quickly enough. Although not exclusive to the metalworking industry, this is a very clear problem that presents at least five main challenges.

PRODUCTION STOPS – 15% of production jobs are delayed or even stopped due to not having the correct tooling

WRONG STOCK – As much as 60% of current tooling is obsolete, and 80% of production is being performed by only 20% of tool stocks

NO CONTROL – 30-60% of tooling inventory is uncontrolled and simply stacked by machines in excess quantities

WASTED OPERATOR TIME – 20% of operator time is spent searching for the right tools to complete the job

EXTRA ADMINISTRATION – 20-30% additional time (delays) in manual order administration due to not having the correct tooling

CONTROL, SECURITY AND COST REDUCTIONSEVEN KEY FEATURES

USER TRACKING – Our system let’s you know who is taking the item, when they are taking it, where they are taking it and why. It does this by requiring a user ID (and optional password) to be entered prior to dispensing. This keeps track of what employees are taking, increasing accountability and ensuring that the correct tool is being applied and lowering losses and waste on the shop floor.

REPORTING – Authorized users can access reports by department, job number, user, cabinet, and many other criteria with extensive drill-down capabilities that allow users to ‘dig deeper’ to understand consumption activity. Inventory reports allow for detailed analysis of inventory turns, slow moving items, and stock outs.

RE-ORDERING – Automate your ordering process with rules that dictate when, what, how much and how often the system orders new products. This ensures that stock levels are kept at optimal levels. Our system also keeps track of high-value tools and mission critical items, making sure that they are returned after being used.

WEB BASED – The solution is web based so you can track your shop’s inventory usage from any web enabled device, either in or out of your facility.

OFFLINE – If you don’t want your system connected to the outside web, we can provide an offline installation for the highest level of privacy and confidentiality. Data can still be shared across an internal network for the same high-level of access and decision making.

INTUITIVE USER INTERFACE – The touch screen device is simple to use, getting operators trained quickly, and providing access to products as fast as possible.

SECURITY – The confidence of knowing that you can support the needs of the shop floor begins with the assurance that the products critical to your production are always in stock, and at a level that can sustain current production. No downtime and predictable productivity are important in ensuring customer deliveries and future business. Secure your inventory with one of our shop floor cabinets, or open stock systems suitable for items of all shapes and sizes.

AC100ACCESS CONTROLThe AC100 provides an efficient drawer and bin system with flexible configurations to accommodate products with a variety of shapes and sizes. The AC100 features an intuitive graphical user interface that helps employees obtain the item that they need, and is expandable, supporting auxiliary units for additional capacity. When positions are loaded with only a single item, they can be dispensed one at a time for absolute control. There is also the passive control features that allows multiple items to be dispensed at once – you do not have to pick just one control mode. Access and dispense control modes can both be mixed within a single drawer. Additional advantages of the AC100 are that it is ideal for managing consumable materials, for example production components, critical parts and of course cutting tools. Returnable assets – like calibrated tools and instruments, hand and power tools, maintenance items, spare parts, radios and portable computers – can also be managed. The design of AC100 allows for complete flexibility, versatility and modularity. This flexible system offers a variety of drawer combinations. Flexible drawer depths allow for a broader range of application uses.

AC200ACCESS CONTROLSMART AND SMALLThe AC200 is a cost-efficient solution with small ejectable drawers in plastic. They come in a standard size suitable for small inventory items like insert boxes. AC200 comes with 99 positions, where you can add 3 dividers in each box to create even smaller unit compartments.

COMBINATION IS ITS ADVANTAGEThe compact size of the AC200 gives you the ability to be very flexible where you place the units. The AC200 is a desk standing solution with the option to have the units stacked. Extend it to other Inventory Management products, place single main units next to the machines, build a huge wall of AC200 compartments or just keep the storage under your desk.

AC300ACCESS CONTROLThe AC300 is our next-generation industrial vending machine. Using a dual-tambour system to provide point-of-use access to industrial supplies, this patented bin shelf system, paired with a flexible tambour style door, gives you the ability to eliminate vertical bin “height” waste that is common with fixed door industrial machines.

DISPENSE SQUARE PACKAGES OR BOXES

Specifically designed to dispense square or rectangular boxes or packages, the AC300 eliminates the need for repackaging items to fit in helix coil machines or carousels with radiused bins. Variable bin sizes from 50mm (2”) height to 1524mm (60”) height allow to increase the capacity of an industrial vending machine by 30% while adding highest flexibility. In its most dense (smallest) bin size configuration the AC300 provides for up to 987 bins in roughly the same footprint as our AC 100 cabinet.

QUICK CONFIGURATION AND ASSISTED ASSIGNMENT PROCESS

The simple user interface takes maximum advantage of the bin density and flexibility by simply sliding shelves into a rack and can be reconfigured in minutes without tools. The machine comes with a high-resolution 19” touch display and offers an assisted bin assignment process which requires no additi-onal preparation prior to the initial stock or load. User access can be controlled by various built-in access control systems: finger-print, proximity cards, key fobs, mag-stripe cards, barcodes, keypad/PINs or you simply use your existing employee badges.

AC350ACCESS CONTROLFLEXIBLE BY DESIGN

Designed to provide secure access for up to 422 SKUs (unique items) the AC 350 offers an incredible capacity in a system that has only a 86cm (34”) x 99cm (39”) footprint. The variety of available bin sizes grants you highest fle-xibility in managing both small (carbide inserts, drill bits) and large items, like spray cans, tape, safety glasses, air tools, welding tips, solder, welding tanks.

Throughout large manufacturing plants, the AC 350 is perfectly suited to manage maintenance and repair parts as it is easy to relocate when mounted on optional caster wheels.

TRACK AND CONTROL

The AC350 can control access to products by item, employee or job. Further, the system has the capability to track serialized items. Calibration control en-sures that no serialized item will be issued if it has fallen out of its authorized calibration cycle.
