audible 459 [burglary] alarm at a 17 Mile Driveaddress. A suspicious vehicle was seen in thearea and fled at a high rate of speed when spot-ted by deputies. The driver of the suspiciousvehicle crashed into a tree, fled on foot over afence and hid on nearby property. Several offi-cers from different agencies, such as SalinasP.D. K-9 Unit, as well as the Carmel PoliceDepartment, assisted the Monterey CountySheriff’s deputies with setting a perimeter andcapturing the suspect. The suspect, a 22-year-old male, was taken into custody and refusedmedical treatment. Case continues pending fur-ther investigation.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Unknown suspect(s)stole personal items from a vehicle while it wasparked at the Sunset Center.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Fire engine and ambu-lance responded to a medical emergency onMonte Verde Street. Firefighters assistedambulance personnel with patient assessment,diagnostics, packaging and gathering informa-tion on a male in his 70s who was experiencinggeneral weakness and was incontinent. Thepatient was transported to CHOMP by ambu-lance.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Ambulance dis-patched to Spruance in Pebble Beach for afemale with right hip pain secondary to amechanical fall. Patient transported Code 2 toCHOMP.
Carmel Valley: Female reported hearingnoises inside her residence. Area check wasmade of the residence and surrounding proper-ty. Nothing suspicious was located.
Carmel Valley: Victim reported thatunknown suspects forced entry into a vacantresidence on Ford Road. They did not steal ordisturb anything inside.
Carmel area: Report of a domestic distur-bance on Ocean Avenue. The suspect was
involved in a physical altercation with JaneDoe. No arrests were made.
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Graffiti found insideand outside at the Del Mar bathrooms.Extensive defacement with flat gray aerosolpaint of symbols and acronyms along the inte-rior of the men’s room, on the walls of the stallsand surrounding areas. No suspects.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Person wished toreport some burned debris found behind anoffice building on San Carlos Street. She stat-ed a neighbor of the business heard a smoke
alarm sound sometime on Sunday and notifiedthe reporting party. Carmel P.D. units respond-ed to the business and discovered pieces ofpaper that had been burned. No damage to thebuilding was found.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: While an owner wasplaying with their dog inside their residence onSan Antonio Avenue, the dog accidentally bitthe owner.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: San Carlos Street res-ident reported a strange male adult ran out ofher house when she was opening her front door.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Reporting party lost
Carmel Valley: Neighbors got into a heat-ed argument about their dogs, confrontingeach other, yelling and blaming each otherfor dogs at large. No animals injured in theundesired meeting of canines in the street.Case closed.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Victim reported theloss of two rings on the beach on Nov. 27 in theCity of Carmel.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Female driver, age 24,stopped for speeding and failing to dim highbeams. The driver was found to be DUI andarrested on Ocean Avenue.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Person wished toreport that an unknown female has been takingpieces of plants from planter boxes on SanCarlos Street. He stated the individual takes thepieces from the middle of the plants leavingholes in the arrangements. He would like con-tact made if the subject was seen. An areacheck was conducted. Unable to locate.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Reporting party onGuadalupe Street advised hearing either thefront or back door knob being manipulated. RPdid not see anyone in the area and stated shewas missing her spare house key for the pastfour days. For this reason, she had all the doorlocks re-keyed. An area check was conducted,but no suspicious subjects were located.

Crewsoverhauled the embers. It was reported that anelderly man, possibly homeless, set the news-paper on fire in the trash can. The MST bus dri-ver stated one of the passengers may have seenthe suspect light the fire. Fire crews notifiedCarmel P.D. of the incident.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Fire engine and ambu-lance responded to a medical emergency on theeast side of San Carlos Street. Firefightersassisted ambulance personnel with patientassessment, diagnostics, packaging and gather-ing information on a female in her 70s who hadexperienced a mechanical fall resulting ingroin, left hip and knee pain. The patient wastransported to CHOMP by ambulance.

Monterey resident was surfing in the ocean offof Stillwater Cove, Pebble Beach. His friendssaw him lose his surf board and attempt toswim to the shore. Friends lost sight of him andlater found him floating above the water uncon-scious. Medical aid was administered. He waspronounced deceased at 1328 hours.
Pebble Beach: A large crowd gathered towatch surfers off the coast, with onlookers tres-passing and parking illegally on 17 Mile Drivenear Pescadero Point. All left the propertywhen asked by sheriff’s deputies.
Carmel area: Deputy observed a vehicledrive over a center divider curb at the intersec-tion of Rio Road and Carmel Center Place.After a traffic stop, the female driver was foundto be driving under the influence of an alco-holic beverage.
Carmel Valley: Female resident in CarmelValley Village reported a problem with herneighbor’s dog. Case forwarded to animal con-trol.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Subject was contactedfor causing a verbal peace disturbance and stat-ed he would not leave the property. The subjectwanted food but did not have any money. Hewas given money and asked to leave but thesubject gave the money back and refused toleave. Police were notified and the subject wasasked to leave. Per the organization, the subjectwas told not to come back and if he did he
would be arrested for trespassing on privateproperty. An employee gave the subject a ridefrom the location, and the subject left peaceful-ly. He was verbally notified of the stay-awayorder and stated he heard the officer.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: Reporting party onPerry Newberry stated she noted the rear wingwindow to her vehicle was ajar and a candywrapper was lying on the ground next to thevehicle. RP stated she did not open the window.Entry into the vehicle was never made andnothing was damaged. Upon further inspectionof the vehicle, the rear wing window did notlock and moderate pressure could pop the win-dow open. Close patrol of the area was request-ed.
Carmel-by-the-Sea: A 39-year-old malesubject was arrested on Dolores Street for pub-lic intoxication.
Carmel Valley: A vehicle was observed dri-ving westbound on Carmel Valley Road in theeastbound lane. CHP took over the investiga-tion.
Carmel area: Two Seaside juveniles werefound trespassing on a Carmel school campus.They were both cited and released to their par-ents.
