Unit CircleHold down the finger that corresponds with the angle for which you are finding the trig value .
For sin, put the number of fingers below the depressed finger into the number sign in , and simplify.
For cos, put the number of fingers above the depressed finger into the number sign in , and simplify.

Unit CircleOnce you know how to find trig values for the first quadrant angles, you can find them for every other angle around the circle by finding reference angles.
Steps for finding Trig Values
1. Find the reference angle
2. Determine the trig value for that reference angle.
(same as quadrant 1 angles)
3. Determine the sign of that trig function for the quadrant that the terminal side is in.
(see next slide)

Cos values are positive.
Unit CircleTo remember which trig functions are positive in which quadrant, remember
"All Students Take Charge"
All other trig values are negative.
