Fire Arrangements

Section 2: Emergency & Welfare Arrangements

REMEMBER ALWAYS FOLLOW EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

• Only fight a fire with a extinguisher if it is safe to do so.

• Make sure the safety pin remains in position to prevent accidental discharge.

• If you accidentally discharge the extinguisher, get it exchanged. If propellant cartridge is pierced extinguisher will lose pressure even if full..

All extinguishers should be tested annually and have a label showing date.

Emergency Arrangements

Section 2: Emergency & Welfare Arrangements

ALWAYS SIGN IN & OUT

Why?

If the is an evacuation of the building the fire wardens will take the registers to the muster point. They will check that everyone is out of the building. If you have not signed in – the fire warden will not know you are in the building. The fire brigade will not enter a building unless there are people in there – so they will not be coming to get you.

Plus do not leave until told – as we don’t want to send the fire brigade in to burring building for someone who is actually in the local café!
