We produced the first 13,000 articles at home on the kitchen table together with friends and family.

Founders

That was in 2009, we had already been living and working together for 25 years. With Secrid our dream became a reality; our own design label

with unique products. Nowadays we work with more than 70 colleagues in a beautiful old factory building. It is still one big family and our educa-tional backgrounds in the fashion academy and technical university are

strongly reflected in our products. This is the core of our brand: innovative accessories for everyday use.

The kitchen table still has a central position in our company. For informal discussions, a communal

lunch and the perfect espresso.

Team

With an average age of 26 our team is young and energetic. A diverse family of 70 colleagues

spread over various departments: from customer service to the warehouse, from bookkeeping to the creative studio and so on…

We consider our colleagues’ characters to be as important as their CVs. We see this as a basis for team building. Growth is our biggest aim. For our production, our retailers and in particular for per-sonal growth. We place great importance on training and coaching. And on a barista course, naturally.

Martin Antheunisse developed a new type of leather especially for Secrid: Dutch Martin. Leather with a characteristic appearance and feel to it, developed and produced exclusively in the Netherlands. The coating is transparent and natural due to the use of wax, oil and grease. The hard carnauba wax makes the leather scratch-resistant and water-repellent. This gives it a deep, natural gloss that only improves through use. Available in Night Blue, Whiskey and Bordeaux.

A new leather of Dutch origin

DUTCHMARTIN

This type of leather was developed in the Netherlands. The crocodile print is hard-wearing and hand-coloured. A special sponging technique gives this cow leather a

deep, rich colour. It has a high gloss finish. Available in black and red.

MONEYBAND

Can also be used to join together two Cardprotectors, with space between for a few business cards. Anyone can make their own personal combination by choosing from 8

Moneybands and 9 Cardprotectors.

CARDSLIDE

The new Cardslide is produced from high-quality polycarbonate, as used in the production of bulletproof glass. The Cardslide is a useful addition to the Cardprotector, suitable for business cards and banknotes, for example. It has slimline finishing touches from stainless steel. Available in black and white.

A worthy replacement for leather

By developing a revolutionary different product and production process, wallets are once again

being produced on a large scale in the Netherlands. More efficient and cleaner than ever and at a quantity never before seen in the Netherlands. Close cooperation with our 40 suppliers also

plays a part in this. From the sewing workshop in Vlaardingen to the social enterprise in Leiden. Produced in favourable conditions and with concern for the environment, Secrid has already created more than 200 jobs in the Netherlands.

By 2009 the leather industry had virtually abandoned the Netherlands in favour of low-income countries. Secrid has brought this industry back to the Netherlands.

Aluminium LeatherThe heart The hides

Only about ten companies in the world make high-precision aluminium profiles. As luck would have it, two of these are in the tiny country of the Netherlands. In addition to having clients in the aviation and motor industries they now also work for Secrid.

One of the last tanneries in the Netherlands produces a large part of our leather. This family business was established in 1906 and combines traditional skills

with modern techniques. They also supply the luxury French and Italian fashion houses. The leather is tanned under controlled conditions. We can therefore be

certain that we can supply a reliable top-quality product.

The majority of them are employed at a social enterprise in Leiden. All the various parts of

our wallets, such as the Cardprotector, the sliding system, and the leather are brought together here. This is also where our wallets receive their unique serial number.

All the resources that our employees use in the social enterprise, such as the tools to assemble the Cardprotector, are produced by Secrid and in close consultation with the employees themselves. They know better than anyone else what is important.

More than a hundred people enthusiastically and precisely assemble our products every day. Social

This can be convenient, but also introduces risks, as RFID cards can be scanned and skimmed from long distances. Theft of personal data and money may occur without being noticed. When RFID cards are inside the Cardprotector completely, this

wireless communication is blocked and the cards are fully protected. When the cards are slid out 30 mm, the wireless signal is weak, but sufficient for communication over a short distance. This way your privacy remains secured in the best possible way.

The latest generation of bank cards, credit cards and ID cards is equipped with RFID chips and antennas, to enable wireless communication

(RFID = Radio Frequency Identification).

We use high quality European cow hides. It is tanned under good working conditions and with care and

attention to the environment.

LEATHER

Like our dynamic display that demonstrates the sliding system in our wallets by sliding bank cards in and out automatically. At just 0.1 m² our displays take up very little space and are available in 9

variations. They will fit into any retail outlet.

Our display material sells. We have designed our displays to present our wallets in an attractive and

clear way. They are often the start of a conversation.
