Background Notron Ossomot worked as a chemical science teacher on his home planet Sungam for many yearsuntil he became interested in the theories of alchemy and decided to quit his job and focus on thestudies of Alchemy for him soon to become a highly skilled alchemist transferring his skills fromchemical science to alchemical science by transmuting source metals into gold or less valuablesubstances into powerful materials. With knowledge and creation of these powerful materials he

showcased them to his planets people, received highly positive responses, sold them to the peopleof his planet including his King and now all his creations power the planet and he is very famous andpopular.What is he doing now?Recently alien explorers have set out in search of new planets with new life forms and have comeacross planet Earth. When landing on Earth they hoped to have a welcoming greeting and to unite acivilisation of Earthlings and extra-terrestrials. However naturally the humans were very scared andtook a hostile approach towards the harmless alien explorers by capturing them and taking theminto laboratorys for test subjects and even killing some of them. Some of the aliens managed toescape however the humans secretly tracked their spacecraft and are now hunting them down forsport, money and pride.

When word of this reaches the King he orders Notron to create new powerful materials to use on aweapon of mass destruction that the planets weapon division have been building. Notron reluctantlyagrees and is sent off of the planet to work in peace and secret so the humans cannot find him andso other aliens who disagree with the idea cannot stop him from doing what the King has ordered.The King has commissioned a fine tuned spacecraft with all the equipment that Notron needs andhas sent him to reside in the depths of an asteroid field many light-years away where he will neverbe seen or heard from until the job is done. Notron is now forcing himself to do what his King wantsrather than doing what he believes to be right otherwise the penalty will be immediate death.

When it comes to how he actually looks as a whole, I have decided to keep it as a mystery to theaudience and let them depict their own vision of him which I think helps with the whole story of him

being hidden away in secret so no one can find/disturb him. However he is anything but the genericlook of a Martian.

Secret Lair Concept (Key Thumbnails)

I am still not 100% happy with how my scene looks at the moment. I need to do more thumbnailsand development until I am satisfied with it in terms of where things are, placed, and shape of thespace etc. The left thumbnail shows the main work station area with the hero prop and the controlroom in the back and the big window on the side. The right thumbnail shows the basis of theextracting room which will probably be next to the working room like it is now but I still need moredevelopment and a floor plan to help me position things.

Creative Partnership so farComments from Samantha to myself:Samantha- I like all the ideas, though the one with hiding from other alchemists seems to be the best one.Maybe try mixing them even more, like - he's hiding, because he's working on something valuablefor his race but other alchemist from other planets want the thing too and that's why they are afterhim.Or he's just having his secret lair because he doesn't want anyone to know what he's working on.Anyway, interesting stuff. I am waiting for thumbnails :)

- These are looking very interesting! My brain started creating my own version of your character justby looking at your influence maps!

I am really interested in your development of this ideas and influence maps and also I think thathuman disguise would be a great hero prop. I suppose it would add your character a bit of humorous, a bit comical, asspect (though it also depends on how you would create and picture thecostume).Good luck and I am waiting for more : )

Comments from Dhuran to myself:Dhuran- This sounds really good Alex! if you outline why he needs to save his race that could help, becauseif there was, for example a war, then his lair could be beaten up and crumbling. And if you say whyhe's hiding you could develop the story more

- These maps look really good! What you could also look at is underground lairs. You've outlinedyour alchemist as rogue and on the run, and that could open possibilities to an underground derelictspace.

- These look really definitive, I can kind of see you creating something like a cross between a StarWars and Men in Black type alien, I cant wait to see what you come up with! I really like the conceptof the alchemy table as well, I think you can really expand on that!
