Sacrament of Marriage Arrangements should be made at the Rectory with a priest at least four months in advance.

Sacrament of the Sick Arrangements should be made at your convenience with one of the

priests. In case of emergency, please call the Rectory at once. Sacrament of Reconciliation Sat. 4:00-4:45pm—church First Saturdays 9:00am—chapel (after the 8:15am mass)

Sacrament of Baptism Bring a copy of your baby’s birth certificate, a copy of the sponsors marriage certificate from the Catholic Church to the rectory office during office hours. Baptisms are the first Sundays of the month at 2PM in the chapel.

Sick Visits

If you know of some one that is sick at home or in the hospital and would like to receive the Eucharist, please contact the parish office one of our Eucharistic Ministers of Care or Priests will visit you.

“Falling in Love with God” “Nothing is more practical than finding God, that is, than falling in love in a quite absolute, final way. (Pedro Arrupe, S.J.)

Day 1 - “Longing for God,” will focus on how our longing for God is expressed and directs us to God. Day 2 - “God Longs for Us” will consider how God shows his longing for us in creation, deliverance, and covenant. It will also address how God’s longing for us is most fully and completely realized in the gift of his Son.

Day 3 - “Living the Longing” will suggest how we are to live our acceptance of God’s gift of

salvation in relationship to God and to one another.

Pauline A. Viviano, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor Emerita of Theology at Loyola University of Chicago where she taught for thirty-five years. She holds a doctorate in Bibl ical Languages and Literature from St. Louis University. Though she has recently retired from Loyola University Chicago, she continues to lecture at parishes and synagogues in and around Chicago. We are blessed to welcome her to our parish!

SOCIETY OF ST VINCENT DE PAUL NOTICE

Starting APRIL 1st the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Santa Maria will not be accepting clothing donations. We will not be having a clothing room here at the rectory. We will continue having our food pantry.

After April 1st the Society will be giving a SVDP voucher for our clients for clothing when needed to the SVDP Thrift Store in Libertyville, IL.

Kindly bring your clothing donations to the SVDP Thrift Store in Libertyville at 168 Peterson Road, Libertyville, IL. It is located across from the ACE Hardware Store.

The SVDP Store will be very grateful for your donations of clothing, shoes, knick knacks, etc. It is a great location to shop also.

The Society is very grateful for your continued support. Bless you for all you do for those in need.

THE MASS AS SOURCE OF INNER PEACE

Sixteen weeks of ever deepening participation in the Mass. Each week a central theme/concept is

developed through clear, simple, practical prayer and reflections each day, becoming a familiar

experience. A concluding application guides me in applying this experience to the Sunday Mass. A deeply

Gospel spirituality is developed—an experience of Christ’s love, forgiveness, call and faithfulness in my life.

I truly leave the Mass “in the peace of Christ” to “glorify God with my life.”

The program begins on Sunday, April 7 immediately after the 10:30 AM Mass at Santa Maria del Popolo

parish. It will be held in room 109 beneath the large church. Cost for materials is about $20. A light

To Teach Who Christ is Campaign Update—Enseñar Quien Es Cristo

By now you should have noticed that the Air Conditioning project is almost complete. The electrical, which is the last step, is currently being upgraded to meet the needs of the 12 new units that are hanging on the Church walls. For those of you who pledged to the To Teach Who Christ is and have already fulfilled your pledge we thank you. We are asking those that made a pledge to the To Teach Who Christ Is fund and haven’t yet finished paying your pledges that you please continue paying. We have one more project we would like to accomplish, and we need your help to make it happen. Lighting in the St. Christopher parking lot.

A estas alturas ya debería haber notado que el

proyecto de Aire Acondicionado está casi terminado.
