Last year I shared with you part of the importance of the visit of the Mother of God to the peoples of the Americas. This year I like to contin-ue to share with you this important event in the life of the church in Mexico, the USA and in the world. The apparitions of the Virgen of Guadalupe to Juan Diego in Mexico City took place in the month of De-cember in the year 1431. It was the first apparition worldwide of the blessed Virgin Mary after her assumption into heaven. This approved apparition by the church has a tremendous importance to the life of the church worldwide. First, God in his kindness and wisdom
sent the virgin Mary to the new world to open up the way for the reign of his only begotten Son. The virgin Mary identifies herself as caring mother to all the people of the northern, cen-tral and southern continents of the Americas. Since the first ancient settlers arrive in the American continent, God cared for all of them and he was begging an extension of his church in this part of the world. God sent his very mother as an apostle to all the people of these wide lands of the Americas. Since her apparitions in Mexico, God had stablished for himself a household in the Americas because it was run by his most eminent apostle, none other than the mother of Jesus Christ himself. In Mexico itself many indigenous people accepted the Christian faith by the hundreds of thou-sands because it was handed down by such a loving mother. In honor to our blessed mother the Mexican and Latin American people value mothers greatly. God knew that many would accept his Son if they were guided by his tender and caring mother. Today as Catholics in the USA or any part of the American continent in fact worldwide we have the opportunity to ask our be-loved mother Virgin of Guadalupe to intercede for us so that we may be faithful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are all important for God and that is why he has given all as mother the blessed Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. With joy I would like to invite all to join us in the celebration of the feat of Virgen of Guadalupe here at our parish. The solemn mass will be at 7pm. The presentation of the apparitions will be at 6pm and the procession will be at 5:30pm starting opposite the po-lice station. At the end to the Mass we will have a dinner in the hall. I hope to see you all and share with one another the love of God expressed to us in our Beloved Virgen of Guadalupe.

OUR LADY OF LORETTO, HELPING HANDS CHRISTMAS OUTREACH 2017
The Our Lady of Loretto, Helping Hands Christ-mas Outreach 2017 FINAL WEEKEND
We have committed to help families in need in our parish celebrate the birth of Christ. This is our final weekend to solicit donations. Our need is great and we still need many more of you to donate. It’s easy to be part of this compassionate outreach. Our Giving Trees are up in all the entrances to the Church. Please take an envelope and return it to the secure mail slot at the Rectory, along with your gift of store gift cards, cash or check payable to Our La-dy of Loretto Helping Hands Christmas Outreach. Please indicate the amount of your donation clearly on the outside of the gift card. Gift cards from gro-cery stores and stores such as Target, Kohl’s and Old Navy are much appreciated. This is our final appeal for your help, as our dead-line for donations is THIS Monday December 11, 2017 For your convenience, Helping Hands volunteers will be at the church entrances after each mass this weekend to accept your donations. Thank you for welcoming Jesus into your hearts by generously do-nating to our Parish families in need. We wish you a blessed Advent and a Merry Christ-mas!
