Mar7n Luther King, Jr. Day
This Monday, January 16, we will honor the great
humanitarian work of Dr. Mar=n Luther King, Jr. with a
special liturgy in the main church at 8:30 a.m. This is the
only Mass on Monday, Jan. 16 and the office will be closed
in observance of MLK, Jr. Day. At a =me when more than
ever in our history, we need to work for unity, jus=ce and
peace, not only in our own country, but around the world,
let us come together as a faith community to pray that we
might be God’s instruments of peace and welcome. The
vision of this great man and all who share his commitment
to universal brotherhood needs our solidarity through
prayer, presence, and lived unity.
Your Parish Community Needs You!
Serve as Jesus did!
We have so many needs…ONLY YOU can help us.
Has God blest you a smiling face? Be a minister of
Hospitality. We have a par=cularly great need at the
5:00 p.m. Life Teen Mass.
Has God planted in you a special love for the Eucharist? Be
a Eucharis=c Minister.
Has God given you a quiet desire to work behind the
scenes? Be a sacristan; water plants, help with altar linens,
vo=ve candles and so much more.
Has God revealed in you a voice for song? Join a choir!
Has God inspired in you a love for Scripture or a good
speaking voice? Become a Reader at Mass. We also want to
include more youth and young adults as lectors, especially
at the 5:00 p.m. Life Teen Mass.
Remember: You will experience the great joy of serving
only by serving.
Please contact Jeff in the Liturgy Office 727-726-8477 X-306
to leave your name and area of interest. Jeff will talk with
you and then give your informa=on to the respec=ve
coordinator.
Support our community by reducing expenses and
simplify your offerings. Create your one-=me or
recurring dona=on easily and securely.

Thank You
Almighty and loving God,
We thank you for your infinite mercy in our lives.
Each day we feel your grace anew, nourishing and blessing us.
With confidence in your generosity, mercy and love, we turn to you
In all our needs and we ask you to fill us with the same generosity,
mercy and love toward others.
Help us to share our bread, our life, with those around us,
for when we share of ourselves we make you present to our

As you have shown mercy toward your enemies, give us courage to
act with mercy even in the face of rejec=on or discomfort.
You are our source of life, our model and our message.
May we reflect your example in all that we say and do.
With grateful hearts we offer this prayer, through Jesus Christ,
your Son and our Lord. Amen.

“Today I ask in the name of Christ and the Church,
never +re of being merciful.” –––– Pope Francis, The Church of Mercy
“Thank You” to our parishioners who par=cipated in last
year’s 2016 APA , helping our diocesan church extend Christ’s love
and mercy. Your generosity is a blessing to those we serve.
The mission of the Church is alive and well
here at Espiritu Santo. We finished APA 2016
with record giving and par7cipa7on. A most
joyful “Thank You” to our 1,117 families who
par7cipated in last year's 2016 APA. Your
generous and loving response has allowed
our parish to aLain $310,000 of our
$365,000 assessment, bringing us to 85% of
our parish goal!
As Pope Francis has courageously encouraged us, we should “never
re of being merciful.” Through APA, we have the opportunity to
join with our brothers and sisters in Christ to show mercy through-
out our diocese. Our gi?s can open doors, providing faith forma=on
for all ages, answering calls to the priesthood, and offering direct
services and outreach to some of our most vulnerable.
Please keep the success and unity of our
parish and our diocese in your prayers.
