Guru’s Talk

Listening is an art that requires attention over talent, spirit over ego,

others over self

A good listener is always benefitted with the most due to his ability to

give a sound ear to all the happenings and people around him. A good

listener has numerous advantages as listening solves mutual problem, it

leads to cooperation, it helps in decision making, it builds your

confidence and most importantly prevents conflict.

Above written benefits can be enjoyed if we are ready to develop

listening skills and to master it following RASE formula can be a helpful

key.

R - Responding to the content

A - Acknowledging the feelings

S - Showing the understanding and accepting what is said

E - Encouraging further disclosure

I would like to conclude with a small story to support this:

There was a one person who went into a pub and got into conversation

with someone. He listened but deliberately contributed nothing to the

conversation and was merely summarizing, paraphrasing and feeding

back what the other person said to him. At the end when he got up to

leave the other person commented “thank you and it was the most

interesting conversation I have had for years,” even though the listener

did not contribute at all but speaker felt so much satisfying.

Above all, listening is such unique quality which brings our and other’s

human side out, which is the need of any era.

Mr. Sarit Maheshwari

From The Director’s Desk

My Team Members!!!

Last year, Mangalam has had one of the best years in terms of growth

despite numerous challenges faced by our teams.

In this continuously changing external environment, it becomes

increasingly demanding to look within to strengthen our fundamentals

by learning new skills and gaining knowledge; this gives us an edge over

competition. Having benefits of such a competitive edge, we can set right

the Core values for our next phase of growth. The actual growth of an

organization brings in the opportunity to empower people, enrich their

lives and to contribute to the nation and society by developing a sense of

responsibility.

Integrity is the key in our dealings with clients and other stakeholders.

Investing in abilities of talented team of people shall lay concrete

foundation for continual growth in long run.

As a whole, we are a company of many but our direction of working is

one and that is the key element in client’s delight.

My Mistakes

I make them, I try to hide them

Sometimes it feels like I'm defined by

them

All of the evidence stacked against me

All of the fingers that are pointed at

me

I can't deny it

All of my mistakes

Woven through my story

All the mess I make

God, use it for Your glory

Every wrong turn, it's true

Led me right here to You

I may lose my way, nothing's greater

than Your grace

Not even my mistakes

I hunger to be holy

But I still wrestle with the old me

You know who I am, who I'm

becoming

Through all the dirt and the stains, you

love me

I can't deny it

All of my mistakes

Woven through my story

All the mess I make

God, use it for Your glory

Every wrong turn, it's true

Led me right here to You

I may lose my way, nothing's greater

than Your grace

Not even my mistakes…..

Healthy Tips for Night-shift Employees

Timing: Stick as closely as possible to a normal day and night pattern of food intake.

Aim for three satisfying meals across a 24-hour period. It is best to avoid or minimize

eating between midnight and 6 am and try to eat at the beginning and end of the shift.

Avoid large meals for 1-2 hours prior to sleep. Eat breakfast before day sleep to avoid

waking due to hunger.

Food Types: Choose whole foods, vegetables, lean protein, eggs, nuts, antioxidant rich

food and drink fruit juice. Avoid sugar rich products such as soft drinks, bakery items,

sweets and non-fiber carb foods like white bread. Avoid foods that are high in iron at

night (such as meat) as they can disrupt the liver’s circadian rhythm and cause it to be

out of synch, enhancing glucose metabolism problems

One final Tip: A light box can come in handy. A recent study showed that exposure to

bright light before driving home can help improve alertness, as it suppresses melatonin.
