Thank You City of Sebastopol! SCCC is an independent nonprofit. We are largely (with your help!) self-sustaining. Every little bit is essential to our making our budget each year. One part of that equation is City support. We thank the City for allocating $11,300 for operations this year, and also for new support for our Concert Series. Finally, we are thrilled to report that the remodel funded by the City is moving forward. Look for big changes soon! As you enjoy the updated reception area, bathrooms, and kitchen, please remember to thank the City Council, City Manager, and the rest of our wonderful City staff for making it all happen. For the design, we give recognition to Persinger Architects and Associates.

Spring Phone-a-Thon a Success! Our goal was $15,000 this year. We met and exceeded it, with a total donated of $19,000. Thank you to this wonderful community for helping us continue to offer quality classes, programs, and entertainment. A special thanks to challenge grant donors Gabrielle Disario in memory of her husband and former Board member Don Fangmeyer; Jerry & Suzanne Knecht; Jan Kahdeman & Brian Purcell (financial advisor with Morgan Stanley); Eye Care Institute, Bob Fried & Pam Burleson; Rob & Cie Cary, and to Harmony Farm Supply & Nursery for the $10 gift cards given to those 50 generous donors who gave $100 or more. We LOVE West Sonoma County!!

Rotary and Kiwanis: The Community Center was chosen as a special “paddle raise” recipient at this year’s Sunrise Rotary Guys Can Cook Too event. We thank Sunrise Rotary for that honor, and also for the Club’s generous support of so many worthy interests in Sebastopol. On the heels of the July 3 Fireworks event, we take this opportunity to recognize Kiwanis for their hard work in making that event happen each year, as well as their generous support of SCCC. Finally, we express our appreciation for support from the Rotary Club of Sebastopol, (yes, we have two Rotary clubs!). These organizations all do incredible work to enrich our community.

Whole Foods and Nickels for Nonprofits. Four nonprofits are supported each year through the Whole Foods Nickels for Nonprofits program. Customers who bring in their own bags get a nickel off their purchases, or can donate the nickel to the selected nonprofit. SCCC was chosen to participate this year, and received over $2000. That’s a lot of nickels! Thank you to Whole Foods and to all those generous customers.
