Pets are family, so why not bring them along on vacation? The Captain welcomes pooches paws on deck. Dog friendly rooms are limited, so call ahead to verify availability. Rooms have a two dog maximum with a combined weight of 60lbs.

Capt Hiram’s Resort is nestled in a prime spot, located one mile southwest of Sebastian Inlet on the Indian River at Marker 66. Our Marina is located on a deep-water channel that allows for vessels of all sizes to easily navigate to and from the Intracoastal Waterway north to Sebastian Inlet and out to the Atlantic Ocean. You can dock at the Marina to enjoy our hotel, restaurant and bar. Dockage fees apply for overnight stays.

RefreshMAKE A BIG SPLASH

From 1953 to 1961, the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway was created by dredging a 12ft deep channel in the Indian River Lagoon. The dredging created 137 spoil islands throughout the 156 miles and 4 counties of the Indian River Lagoon. Thankfully we have quite a few right off our banks.

Our daily tours navigate through this haven for both native and exotic plants and animals. Many islands are surrounded by shallow sand bars or seagrass beds, which are a vital habitat and nursery area for many young fish species. These fish are an important food source and attract many animals (including humans). If you keep your eyes open you might be able to spot dolphin jumping in the wake of our boat, lumbering manatees and various shorebirds.

The River King also offers a sunset cruise to Pelican Island National Wildlife Reserve, the first federally protected nature reserve designated as a wildlife refuge.

SAVOR A RELAXING PADDLE AMONG THE ISLANDS

Both kayaks and stand-up paddle boards are a great option for those who would like to explore the waters of the Indian River Lagoon on their own, enjoying all the varied plant and wildlife. Imagine spending time relaxing on the beach of your own tranquil island. Head over to the Adventure Center located at Capt Hiram’s Marina for more rental information.

ANOTHER WAY TO CRUISE ALONG OUR BEAUTIFUL WATERWAYMake sure to leave time for this leisurely four mile pedal along the Indian River Road bike trail. There are many places to stop

Best for small executive meetings, this oval boardroom seats 14 guests and is equipped with state-of-the-art AV technology. Catering is available, or you may opt to break from the boardroom and enjoy sunshine and seafood at the Sandbar or Blackfins.

Our main event space for private parties and corporate events presents gorgeous views of the Indian River. It can accommodate up to 150 guests within 2,800 square feet.
