What’s Happening Here...

Early Learning Centre In case you’re wondering what’s happening on the

corner of the Oval, beyond the car park, the building

of the Early Learning Centre has begun this week!

Church Pews for Sale! As part of the refurbishment of the Church, the cur-

rent pews are being replaced by chairs. So this pro-

vides an opportunity for you or any one you know to

purchase a pew or two! Perfect for your decking area,

your backyard, a school playground or even your fami-

ly room!

Those that were donated in the first place and have a

plaque on them are being offered to those families

(where it is possible to contact them), if they would

like to have them. If not, the plaques will be removed

and displayed elsewhere in the church.

Most pews are 3 metres long and there are four

which are 4 metres long. They are $90 each (roughly

the cost of one new chair).

If you would like to purchase one or more, please

write your name on the list at the back of the church.

Please note that you have to be able to transport it

yourself, as we are unable to help with that. They can

be taken anytime from now, and preferably before

Monday 9th October when the refurbishment begins.

Gymnasium Setup During

Church Refurbishment We need 4 able-bodied helpers to set up chairs in

the gymnasium for Masses during the Church Refur-

bishment Project on Saturday 14th, 21st & 28th Octo-

ber and Saturday 4th November at 2pm (at this stage,

it’s anticipated Masses will resume in the church on

the weekend of the 11th and 12th of November).

If you can help, please can you add your name to the

sign up sheet at the back of the church.

More from here & there….

PAGE 4 SEASONS TWENTY FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, Y EAR A

Baptisms These are held on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month at 11:15 am or at any of the Parish

Masses on the 2nd, 4th or 5th Sundays.

A compulsory preparation night for parents takes place on the first Tuesday of each month

in the Parish Community Centre at 7:30 pm. Children to be baptised, and their families, are

then invited to a Welcome Mass prior to Baptism where they are introduced to the Parish Community and wel-

comed by them. In order for this to happen, preparation needs to begin at least 4-6 weeks before the Baptism,

with a call to confirm parents’ attendance at the Preparation Night. When children of school age are to be bap-

tised an extended preparation time is required. It is important to remember that Baptism is about the initiation of

a child into a community of Faith or a community of Disciples. There is no such thing as a ‘private’ Baptism... it is

something done by the whole Church.
