SEAGUAR KNOT Joining Leader to Fishing Line

Overlap ends of two lines of aboutthe same diameter for about 8".Take the ends, and form a loop.

Twist loop three complete turns. Pull leader and loose endof line through loop.

Hold the lines on either endof the knot and pull tight.

Clip the tag ends.

SURGEON ’S KNOT Line to Leader (Unequal Diameters)

Tie a loose overhand knot withabout 10 inches of working endprotruding from the knot. Feedthe working end through theeye of the lure or hook. Then,feed the end back through the

overhand knot, allowing enoughline to finish steps 2 and 3.

Next, adjust the loop to its desiredsize and make a second overhand

knot around the standing part of theline just past the first knot.

Finish the knot by tightening each ofthe two individual knots, then slidingthem together snug against the eye of

the lure or hook.

Place the two lines parallel, with the ends pointing inopposite directions. Overlap the lines about 8 inches.

Hold the two lines together and, treating themas a single line, tie an overhand knot.

Pull the entire leader through the loop.Don’t pull the knot tight.

Pass the line through the loop a secondtime as shown in the illustration at left.

Hold the lines on each end of the knotand pull tight. Trim the tag ends.

HOOK SNELL Leader to Hook Connection

Insert one end (A) of the leader through the eye ofthe hook, extending 2 inches beyond the eye. Insertthe other end (B) of the leader through the eye in theopposite direction, pointing toward the throat of the

hook. The remaining leader is below hook.

Take the large lower loop closest tothe eye and wrap it over the hookshank and both ends of the leader

toward the hook's throat.

Continue to wrap 7 turns. Pinch wraps with left hand. Grip the end ofthe leader that is through the eyelet with your right hand and pull smoothly.Continue pinching the turns so the knot won’t unravel. When knot is almosttight, slide it up against the eye of the hook. Grip the short end lying along

the shank of the hook with a pair of pliers. Pull this end and the standing lineat the same time to completely close and tighten the knot.

IMPROVED CL INCH KNOTLine to Swivel or Lure

1. Pass about 8 inches of the line throughthe eye of hook, swivel or lure. Now wrap theworking end around the standing line 5 times.

2. Hold the coils in place. Feed the end of theline through the first small loop above theeye, then through the big loop as shown.

3. Pull on the tag end while holding the standingline to snug the coils up. Make sure the coilsremain spiral and do not overlap each other.Slide tight against the eye. Snip tag end.

DOUBLE UN I -KNOTJoining Leader to Fishing Line

Cinch up both knots by pulling onthe remaining working ends. Pullthe two standing lines in opposite

directions to slide the knotssnugly together. Trim ends close

to nearest knot.

Overlap the ends of two similar diameterlines for about 6". Take one end, and forma loop, leaving about 8 inches of working

end extending beyond the loop.

Tie a Uni-Knot, making six turns around thetow lines (leave the loop open).

Feed the tag end through the open loop,then pull it to form a snug knot tightaround the line. Repeat steps 1, 2 & 3

with the other line.

Double about 5 inches of line,and pass through the eye.

Tie a simple Overhand Knotin the doubled line, lettingthe hook hang loose. Avoid

twisting the lines.

Pull the end loop down,passing it completely

over the hook.

Pull both ends of the lineto draw up the knot.
