The summer months are the perfect time to get involved, volunteer,

challenge yourself, learn a new skill, or develop a talent. Colleges and universities

offer exciting programs for high school students. Many (but not all) of the

programs are listed in this booklet.

If you are interested in a summer program, you need to research your

options NOW, get any required applications and be sure to meet deadlines and

gather other supporting materials as needed. Please be sure to give your counselor

and/or teacher at least two weeks’ notice prior to the deadline.

If you have any questions, please feel free to speak with your guidance

Summer Programs 2021

Summer is a wonderful time for you to explore different educational programs, take a

summer school class, participate in a summer program related to your interests, or

volunteer at a company to investigate a career that might interest you. Below is a list of

programs that may result in transferable college credit while others simply may culminate

in a life-changing experience. We encourage you to take advantage of some of these

wonderful opportunities available to you this summer. Whatever you choose to do this

summer, use your time wisely. Plan now to make the summer of 2021 a memorable one.

are automatically enrolled in foundation, art history, and portfolio development

The High School Research Program (HSRP) is a highly competitive six-week

educational program for students interested in pursuing science, technology,

engineering and mathematics (STEM) studies. Selected students, together with

Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) scientific staff collaborate on projects that

support BNL and the Department of Energy mission.
