SEAEYE PANTHER PLUSis a light weight work class ROV& an evolution of the SeaeyePanther to provide greaterpower, payload & interfaceoptions.Forward thrust has beendoubled to an impressive 220kg and lateral thrust increasedfrom 85 kg to 170 kg with arelatively small increase of thevehicle's in air weight to 500 kg.Payload has been increased to105 kg.These improved performancefigures translate into handlingcharacteristics that pilots reportas being 'simply spectacular' .A distinguishing feature is theadditional 4 vectored SM5brushless DC thrusters makinga total of 8 vectored thrustersin pairs. The ROV frame hasbeen slightly enlarged toaccommodate these thrusters,improve through frame waterflow and provide space for a 12function hydraulic valve packfor tooling and manipulatorapplications.Typical applications include drillsupport and survey operations,for which the vehicle is fully interfaced.

BuoyancyThe two vehicle electronics pods arefabricated with high grade, carbon fibrecomposite materials and provide mostof the vehicle buoyancy. One podcontains the vehicle electronics leavingthe other empty for additional, customisedequipment. Water ingress and vacuumalarms are fitted to these pods. Additionalbuoyancy is provided by shaped syntacticfoam blocks.
Control System16 bit digital system providing easyinterfacing to ancillary equipment by theoperator. The SEAEYE comprehensivevideo overlay is fitted as standardproviding digital and analogue compassrose, tilt icon, date time group, depth(metric or imperial), CP value, pre-titledand free text pages. Vehicle data maybe exported to client's survey ornavigation computer systems via theSeaeye telemetry monitor unit, which issupplied as part of the standard spareskit.
NavigationSensitive flux-gate compass unit withsolid state rate sensor for enhancedazimuth stability.

Video SystemFour simultaneous video channels transmittedvia two dual fibre-optic transmitters and two fibreoptic cores. Two dual fibre-optic de-multiplexersare situated in the Surface Junction Box(supplied) in the ROV control cabin. Two 15 inchcolour monitor are also provided.
Surface Control UnitContains all the vehicle surface controlelectronics, TMS control and surface outlets forancillary equipment. This unit is 19" rackmountable and is supplied in its own case.
Pilots Hand Control UnitA small remote hand control unit containing allsystem controls. Unit is supplied on a 5m lead.
Surface Power Supply UnitSupplies all power requirements for the vehiclesystem. Line Insulation Monitors (LIMS) arefitted to both AC and DC power components forsystem safety and monitoring purposes. Requires3 phase AC input of between 380vac and 480vacat 20kva.
Tether Management SystemThe type 3 bale arm TMS illustrated providesup to 150 metres excursion of the ROV. A variantof the Seaeye type 5 winch and slip ring garageTMS is available for excursions up to 200 metres.

SEAEYE PANTHER PLUS is a verypowerful and capable evolution of theestablished Seaeye Panther and isbased on a specification developedwith ROVTECH Limited who operatethe largest fleet of Seaeye ROVs. Thislight weight work class ROV is capableof drill support and survey operationsfor which interfaces are provided. Freeswimming operations are possiblewith up to 300 metres of tether butthis ROV is normally deployed usinga Seaeye Tether Management System(TMS) to minimise the effect of currenton the vehicle's performance. Thestandard TMS is a garage with a balearm, level wind and 150 metre tethercapacity. A variation of the SeaeyeType 5 winch and slip ring TMS isalso available to provide ROVexcursions to 200 metres.
