SDLC Y Cable 1 SDLC Y Cable The SDLC Y cable was developed for use in traffic cabinets that utilize an SDLC bus but don’t have enough SDLC connectors to add any additional devices. Inserting one of these cables between an existing SDLC cable and SDLC device provides you with an extra connector for adding devices to the SDLC bus. SDLC Y CableThe SDLC Y cable was developed for use in traffic cabinets that utilize an SDLC bus but don’t have enough SDLC connectors to add any additional devices. SDLC Y Cable Bid Specification 1.0 General. This item shall govern the purchase of a forked (Y) SDLC cable equivalent to the Wavetronix SDLC Y cable (YC).

2.0 Cable. The YC shall consist of a cable 4 feet (1.2 meters) in length with a branching arm that is 8 inches (20.3 centimeters) in length.

The YC shall have an ambient operating temperature of -30°C to 105°C.

The conductors in the YC shall consist of four pairs of 22 AWG stranded tinned copper conductors. The YC shall be foil shielded and include a drain. The YC shall have a PVC jacket and insulation.

The YC shall comply with the following NEMA specifications: it shall be rated to 300V RMS, and to 105°C.

3.0 Connectors. The YC shall have three SDLC connectors, two male and one female.

The YC’s connectors shall comply with the following NEMA specifications: they shall feature latching blocks, and the contacts shall be at least 15 millionths of an inch gold plated.
