Welcome to the King Center and Goodell Gymnasium, home of the Hardrockers. The facilities recently had a facelift as the women’s basketball, men’s basketball, women’s volleyball and men’s football teams all got upgrades to the locker room area. The football team is totally housed at O’Harra Stadium, while the other sports recently had their current facilities modified. The locker rooms are all state of the art to go along with an excellent gym that seats approximately 3,000 plus and there is a top of the line fitness center and an indoor pool for use as well.

Barb Felderman Head Coach Phone: (605) 394-2602 Email: [email protected]

Barb Felderman enters her 32nd season as Lady Hardrocker basketball coach. She has guided teams to berths in the NAIA National Tournament 11 times, including appearances in the Final Four in 1998 and 1999.

Felderman has coached Mines to a 458-386 (at start of 12-13 season) overall record, and to a team record 28 wins during the 1997-98 season. She has coached seven SDIC Championship teams and added DAC conference titles in 2002 and 2005.

A native of Doland, SD, and a graduate of Northern State University, Felderman spent eight years coaching and teaching at Kadoka and Pierre High Schools. She served as head softball coach at Ball State prior to coming to SD Mines in 1981. She was the Hardrocker volleyball coach until 1993 and won seven SDIC titles. While earning her Masters at the University of Wyoming, Felderman served as assistant basketball and softball coach.

Barb and her Lady Hardrocker basketball teams have held numerous clinics and camps to teach young boys and girls the fundamentals of basketball and teach them the true spirit of competition.

Page 10: SD Mines women's basketball 2012-13 media guide

Zeigler, who played hoops for Black Hills State from 1999-2003 and was a standout player at Sturgis Brown High School prior to that, has been involved in basketball throughout his career. He served as a student-assistant coach for the University of Minnesota women's basketball team for two years and served as the interim head coach and as an assistant coach for the men's basketball program at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn.

"Gabe has been influenced by basketball his whole life," Felderman said. "He brings a wealth of knowledge for the game and knows what it takes to be a student-athlete and a coach. His sister was very successful here as a Hardrocker and now I am confident Gabe will be as well."

As a Lady Hardrocker assistant coach, a big part of Zeigler's duties will be recruiting. South Dakota Mines student-athletes are a very specific type - having to have not only basketball skills, but also excellent academic accomplishments. Zeigler feels he's ready for the challenge to find athletes that will thrive at SD Mines.

"I want hard working athletes that can get things done on the court and in the classroom," Zeigler said. "I want someone that is willing to put the time in and obviously is athletic and gifted. I would like to tap into the resources I had in Minnesota as well as locally."
