Write the participant identification number on the test using a permanent pen.
If you use labels, do not obstruct the air openings.
8
Open the alcohol swab. Clean the finger that will be pricked with the alcohol swab using a circular motion for 10 seconds. Allow to air-dry.
The best finger to prick is the fourth finger on the hand that is used the least often.
9
Using the lancet, prick the participant’s finger to get a drop of blood.
10
Discard the lancet into the sharps container.
11
Wait until a drop of blood has collected on the finger.
Using the capillary pipette, collect blood up to the fill line(10 µl).
12
Add the blood into the round sample well.
Let the blood absorb into the pad.
13
Discard the capillary pipette into the sharps container.
14
Add four drops of assay diluent into the square assay diluent well.
