They are found working on web series, TV dramas and comedies, short and feature films, musical theatre books and lyrics, stand-up comedy and also on theatrical plays. They also work in advertising and marketing, as well as the fields of communications and politics. In this course you will write a range of scripts and explore writing for both live and recorded performance. You will also learn how to collaborate with others to bring your scriptwriting projects to life. Course entry requirements: It is expected that applicants to this course will have some past experience in writing, or experience in a related field (e.g. acting). Writing samples must be provided with application—see below. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate their capacity to complete a course at Advanced Diploma level.

Entry is by online application, examples of your writing and an interview: To apply for this course, fill in the online application form. We recommend you fill it in with as much detail as possible, as your answers will be used to judge your suitability for the course. You should give examples of your experience throughout.

You must present three samples, which you can upload with your application.

A 10-line dialogue on a topic provided by us (see website for more detail)

Two other pieces of writing in any form (e.g. poem, essay, blog, short story, script, etc.) which you feel demonstrate your capacity to write (Maximum five A4 pages in total.)

Following submission of your writing samples, we will arrange an interview with you.

Acceptance: On acceptance of a place in the course, students are required to pay a deposit of $400 towards course fees. This secures your place and goes towards your first weeks in the course.

Qualification: On successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to receive a nationally recognised qualification, the CUA60415 Advanced Diploma of Creative Product Development.

Homework and assignments: In addition to the face-to-face training each week, students should allow a number of hours per week for homework tasks, research, thinking and writing time.
