INT. A LECTURE HALL DAY
HUGO
Yesterday was strange. London, the city that never sleeps,
slept. I went out with a few friends last night and the
tubes were empty and so were the streets. Weird. In all my
life I have never encountered London to look so dead. It was
nice in a way as I noticed things I had never noticed
before. Have you noticed how many pods the London eye has?
32. I have lived her for 19 years and only realised this
last night. Funny how so many people miss the little things
as they’re to busy looking at the bigger things. this may
not be the correct contrast but you know what I mean.I also
noticed how long it takes for London bridge’s crossing to go
down again. I was sitting on a wall near the London eye and
I counted the seconds, 1,2,3 1 minute 36, 1 minute 37, 4
minutes 52, 7 minutes 36. It was so chilled just watching.
But what I don’t understand is why the bridge was up in the
first place, there were no boats. No people. No atmosphere.
Come to think of it there was noting last night. It’s like
there was no time, like the world was on standstill. My
watch is broken
