Chorale(Retreat"!Cedar&Point!On#Saturday,)September)26,)2015!Chorale(members(are(invited(to(attend(a(retreat(trip(to(Cedar(Point.(This#trip#will$serve$as$an$opportunity&for&the&students&to&bond,&and&build&relationships&with&the&ensemble.!!!
Chorus/Chorale"!Macomb'Junior'High'Workshop!Students(in(Chorus!and$Chorale!will$be$asked&to&participate&in&the&2016!Macomb'Community'College'Jr.$High$Show$Choir$workshop&at&M.C.C.&on&01/11/16&and&01/12/16.!Fundraising*will*be*done*to*help*with%the%cost%of%the%workshop,%and%we%will%be%looking%into%providing%transportation%for%the%event.%!!!

Concert(Attire!CHORALE/CHORUS:!!General'Concert'Attire"!For$most$performances(the(students(will$wear$the$Scripps$Chorale/Chorus!t"shirt,'and'black'pants.'Shirts'will'be'worn'tucked'in'but'slightly'pulled'out,'and'no'other'shirt'is'to'be'showing(under(the(choir(shirt.(Students(are(also(asked(to(wear(black(shoes(and(black%socks.%No%big%jewelry'or'hair'ribbons'are'permitted.!!MSVMA%Festival%Attire"!Both%the#Scripps#Chorale!and$Chorus!will$be$independently)participating)in)the!MSVMA%Middle%School%District'Choir&Festival.&This&will&be&a&great&educational&and&performance&experience(for(our(students,(and(will(require(attire(that(corresponds(with(the(formal(tone(of(the(event.&Members&of&Chorale&and$Chorus$are$asked$to$dress$according$to$the$following$guidelines$for$Festival:!!Ladies:"Black"dress"pants,"or"black"skirt"(skirts"must%be%past%the%knee),%black%blouse%or%dress%shirt,%black%socks%or%hose,%black%dress%shoes.!!Gentlemen:"Black"dress"pants,"white"dress"shirt,"neck"tie"(preferably"solid"color),"black"socks,"black"dress%shoes.!!!6TH$GRADE$CHOIR:!Students(will(wear(the(Scripps'Choir't"shirt,'and'black'pants.'Shirts'will'be'worn'tucked'in'but'slightly'pulled&out,&and&no&other&shirt&is&to&be&showing&under&the&choir&shirt.&Students&are&also&asked&to&wear&black&shoes&and&black&socks.&No&big&jewelry&or&hair&ribbons&are&permitted.!!!
Dragon'Select/DS2!Dragon'Select!and$DS2$are!district'wide'select&choral&ensembles,"or"honors"choirs,"made"up"of"Lake"Orion"choir"students"from"all"of"the"district"schools."These!ensembles!are!co"directed'by'all'three'middle&level&directors.&Students(from(grades(6"8!are$eligible$to!be#a#part#of#the#groups."All"Dragon"Select/DS2!rehearsals'will'take'place'in'the'Scripps!Middle&School&choir&room,&and&the&culminating&performance*will*be!on!Wednesday,)December)10,)2015!at#7:00$P.M.$in$the$L.O.H.S.!Information*about*auditions)will)be)distributed)in)class.)!!!

Fundraising!As#a#choir#program,#fundraising#will#be#done#to#help#offset#individual#student#costs#involved#with#choir,#and$to$and$provide$scholarships$and$resources$for$members$of$our$choir$program.$All$choir$members$and$families$are$encouraged,$but$not$required$to!participate'in'Scripps'Choir'fundraising'efforts.!!!!
LOCS%Middle%School%Chicago'Music&Trip"!7th/8th!grade!Students(in(Chorale!and$Chorus$may"choose"to"go"on"our$trip$to$Chicago$in$May$of$2016$(dates$TBD)$There$will$be$an$informational$parent$meeting$on$(TBD)"in#the#Scripps#cafeteria.""!

Scripps'7!Scripps'7'is'a'seven'member'select'ensemble'(7th/8th!grade&students)&that&performs&a!capella&works.&The$group$begins$rehearsals$in$the$spring!with%a%goal%of%performing%at%the%spring%concert.!!!
