A CHANGE IN OUR PASCHAL TRIDUUM SCHEDULE: I have decided that this year, the English Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be at St Joseph in Tontitown at 7pm & the Spanish Mass of the Lord’s supper will be here in Springdale at 7pm. I hope this means I will see more people on Holy Thursday at St Joseph in Tontitown. Father Ramos will celebrate the Mass here and I will celebrate the Mass at St. Joseph.
A NEW MINISTRY COMING TO ST RAPHAEL: Hispanic Religious Sisters are returning to St Raphael Catholic Church later this summer. This is a different order with a different mission than the sisters who were here before; a completely new mission. I will have more information to report in the next few weeks. You’ll find what you need to know about them in The Trumpet first.
VIDEO PROJECTOR SYSTEM UPDATE: Great news! Our Pastoral and Finance Councils have approved going forward with raising funds for a video system for the Church. This has been part of my “State of the Parish” homily for several years. When it is installed, we would be able to have our song lyrics, readings and parts of the Mass projected to the screens for all to see and follow. It will also be used when we have special programs, speakers and events that are held in the church. We project the cost to be around $55,000 but these LED projectors will last over 15 years. Right now, we need you to donate to this project. There are 3 easy ways on which you can donate: 1) online giving; it is listed there 2) drop your donation in the collection using special labeled envelopes found in the vestibule 3) drop it by the office at your convenience. I would like to start this project this summer, but we need to raise all these funds in advance of installing the system.
HISPANIC RELIGIOUS SISTERS ARRIVNG THIS SUMMER: The congregation is from Mexico City. The Order is called “Missioneras de la Caridad de Maria Inmaculada.” (Missionaries of Charity of Mary Immaculate) Their mission while here at St Raphael will be “Human Development Ser-vices.” There will be 3 sisters coming at some point in July. I will offer you more details in a few weeks including a detailed explanation of what is Human Development Service.
