Screens and Gravel Pack Course presents Is this the course for you? The Screens and Gravel Pack course provides much of the knowledge needed to design and construct screened water bores in alluvial formations. This is a comprehensive hands-on course facilitated by industry experts. It is aligned with Edition 4 of the Minimum Construction Requirements for Water Bores in Australia and is nationally recognised by regulators when issuing drillers licenses. It is appropriate for drillers, supervisors, and managers involved in waterwell or environmental drilling activities. A certificate will be awarded to participants on successful completion of a written examination. The Screens and Gravel Pack Course costs $1100 +GST for ADIA members and $1300 +GST for non-members. This price includes all reference and training materials, morning and afternoon teas, and lunches. Please note that other incidentals and accommodation are not included in the course fee. We do not refund your registration fee for cancellations made less than 5 work- ing days before the course start date, but a substitute person can attend. Content includes The advantages and disadvantages of various types of screens in current use How to conduct an accurate sieve analysis How to select the correct slot size, screen length and diameter for any given geological environment Effective screen installation methods When and how to effect natural or artificial gravel packing Effective methods of well development The use and requirements for test pumping Appropriate rehabilitation procedures. How does it work? The course goes over two days including both written and practical work. On the second day, you will be required to complete an open-book assessment. To earn your certificate, you must attend the full two days and pass the final assessment. If you have difficulties with reading or writing, alternative methods of assessment can be arranged. Upon completion, you will receive: A nationally-endorsed and recognised certificate of completion A reference book of over 120 pages, including tables and diagrams.
