Marlene has worked for Scranton Equity for 18 years. She began working in the production facility, became the production manager and now manages the operation. Marlene and her husband Tom operate their own farm and a large cow/calf herd.

Justin is a recent graduate of South Dakota State University with a Master’s Degree in Animal Health Science and Nutrition. His studies include training in ruminant and monogastric nutrition. Justin grew up on the family farm, raising Long Horn cattle and developing his love for team roping.

Greetings. Scranton Equity Exchange is proud to invite you to join our rich, long and storied organization. We are an agricultural based co-op established in 1914 by the local growers in Scranton, North Dakota. We provide a wide range of services to support local agriculture and the community. Scranton Equity proudly boasts it has returned to patrons over 15 million dollars in dividends.

With over 2,000 member owners, Scranton Equity management and staff work diligently to provide service and value-added products to help make the local growers and community members successful. This relationship between the farmer and the co-op has helped sustain the farmer, the co-op, the employees and the community for over 100 years.

Scranton Equity has seven divisions which provide service for the southwest region of North Dakota.

GRAINThe Equity handles nearly 12 million bushels of grain annually. We employee 10 full-time employees and can handle large 110 railcar shuttle trains.

FEEDThe Equity owns and operates the regions only feed manufacturing business. We provide livestock feed to southwest North Dakota and the four-state area. Our production facility allows us to customize feed rations for many different animals including cattle, bison, horse, swine, sheep and other smaller animals. We employee 15 full-time employees and deliver feed throughout the area.

AGRONOMYThe agronomy service is very comprehensive; we provide field scouting services, ground nutrient testing and precision agricultural services. We have complete commercial application services for applying fertilizer

and crop protection needs. We also provide a full-line of fertilizer and various crop seeds. We employ 15 full-time employees and five part-time employees.

FARM & FUELScranton Equity owns and operates a full-service fuel station and convenience store. We offer bulk fuel, propane and other petroleum products. In conjunction with petroleum, the Equity also operates a hardware store, lumber yard and a full-line of livestock equipment. This division employs eight full-time employees.

PARTS & REPAIRThe Equity operates a full service parts and repair facility. The shop can handle large trucks, tractors and automobiles. The Equity employs 13 full-time employees with over 90 years of combined maintenance experience.

FRONTIER TRAVEL CENTERScranton Equity operates a travel center in Bowman, North Dakota. It is conveniently located at the intersection of Hwy 12 and Hwy 85. The travel center is a full-service truck and auto facility, with accommodations for truck drivers, a deli and the ability to meet the needs of the traveling community. Frontier employs over 40 full-time and part-time people from the surrounding community.

SUPER VALU FOODScranton Equity owns and operates a community grocery store in Scranton, North Dakota. The store offers a full-line of grocery products and proudly serves the community. The store has eight full-time employees.
