It’s hard to believe we are entering the final quarter of the year. Many winter residents will start trickling in from all parts of the country, so welcome back! I hope everyone is having a wonderful year. Golf Course
During this time of the year the golf course is closed while the Landscaping Department reseeds the golf course with ryegrass for the winter season. This project will start on Mon-day, October 8th. The golf course will re-open on Friday, No-vember 9th.
Budget Season
This time of the year is also budget season. RCI will be finaliz-ing its 2019 budget at the end of the month. A TownHall Meet-ing will be scheduled for Friday, October 26th, at 7PM. Please keep an eye out for your Association’s individual budget meet-ing.
Compilation Reports
I would like to remind all owners that RCI composes a monthly compilation report for your Association. Furthermore, some associations have this report posted on the www.scottsdaleshadows.org website under private pages.
This tab is in the top right-hand corner of the home page. You will need a password to gain access. If you don’t know the password, please contact your board or RCI for the code.
Maintenance
Did you know that owners may split the cost of a water shut-off? Ultimately, it will be left to the owners to agree or disagree to this as the plumbing contractor will bill you per hour and your contractor may have to wait for the oth-er one to finish. It’s very important for residents to understand
Page 2
GM’s Desk - Continued from page 1
that the window of when the water will be shut off is only an estimate. If the plumbing contrac-tor doing the work finishes within 30 minutes of starting, the water will be turned back on. Don’t get caught trying to do repairs without notifying RCI of the work. If the water gets turned back on and your plumbing contractor is in the mid-dle of repairs, it could result in extensive water damage to you and the surrounding units. You may be held responsible to pay all cost caused by this incident. Remember, you can split the $30 cost with your fellow neighbor. In Conclusion
Have a wonderful month of October. I hope to see many of you next month at the Thanksgiving Dinner.
Sincerely,
Ramiro Wong, CMCA, AMS

If your unit has suffered water damage, it’s imperative that you have a skilled team of
professionals working on your restoration. Since water-damaged structures that have
been inappropriately restored are very susceptible to mold and mildew, we at Go To
Services make sure that every corner of the building is dry before we begin the restora-
tion process. This is definitely one of those times when hiring the wrong company can
come back to bite you down the road.
