People who live alone (or only with children under 18) can now visit 1 other household and spend time together inside each other’s homes with no social distancing. This is called an ‘extended household’. Extended households can stay overnight at each other’s homes, if they wish to. This means that some couples who don’t live together will now be able to meet again indoors with no social distancing. This rule does not apply to households with people who are shielding.

EDUCATION, SCHOOLS AND CHILDCARE Scottish schools will open again in August. Schools will contact parents to say how much time each child will be in school. SPORTS & LEISURE From 29th June, playgrounds and outdoor sports courts can open for people to use. Zoos can open for people who live within 5 miles.

TRAVEL You can travel to a place near your local community for fun and other activities. There will be more trains and buses. If you need to use a bus or train then try to avoid peak times. Peak times are when people usually might travel to work. For example between 7am-9am or between 4pm-6pm. From 22nd June everyone must wear a face covering on public transport. This rule does not apply to people who have breathing difficulties or other health conditions that would make wearing a mask very difficult. Everyone still needs to respect social distancing and stay 2 metres apart from other passengers.
