27th August 2009 To Whom It May Concern Dr Foerster joined our school as a teacher on a one-year contract commencing August 2008 - 2009. At Shanghai United International School, Scott performed the duties of a generalist teacher, but was part of the Science Department for the whole year. In Semester 1 he taught Maths, Science, Geography, Physical Education and Art. During Semester 2 he delivered Maths, Science, History, Physical Education and ICT. In addition, he covered classes periodically for absent colleagues, which included German Language, Maths and English as a Second Language. He was responsible for the Extra Curricular Activity "Magic Club" which explored dramatic presentations involving Science, Maths and the Art of illusion. During the 2008-2009 academic year Scott was a key individual in organizing a “Safety Month” at SUIS. He delivered safety presentations during the month of November to the student body and teaching staff. He gave lessons, which incorporated mini-safety lectures into his regular classes and provided a water safety presentation prior to the commencement of our activity week. During field trips, he acted as a school medic, attending to cuts, scrapes and related medical problems. During times that the school Nurse was unavailable, he provided help for the students. Scott also participated in activities such as the talent show; a theatrical presentation "Monkey Madness; the whole school Science Fair and a balloon debate. I trust that you will find this helpful, but should you require any additional information please do not hesitate to contact me.
