Ambient music is a genre of music that puts an emphasis on tone and atmosphere over traditional musical structure or rhythm. Ambient music is said to evoke an "atmospheric", "visual" or "unobtrusive" quality.

Sound

The reason I put the definition of Ambient music is because, in my opening sequence I am going to create Ambient sound through the use of a hoover. The hoover emits is a very menacing, unusually low toned sound which when used in the right context can be really scary and weird, which is what I am going for in my sequence. I want to create a sense of dread and I hope my unusual tactic works to my advantage. I will get this sound by putting the hoover sound towards my microphone, which I will then record so that I can edit it in to my sequence.
