Coach Bays on the GTC East:"Marlette, Brown City and Ubly allhave many talented seniors return-ing, and Harbor Beach is bringingup many athletes from a loaded JVteam. Our conference will be strongas it has ever been. Coaches comments on thisyear’s team: It’s a year of transitionwith the retirement of Coach JohnGuttowsky and the loss of over halfof last year’s squad. Seniors EmilyHale, Lillie Miller and JeremyRadloff will be counted on to pro-vide leadership for their youngerteammates and should solidifythree of the singles slots.Sophomores Trevor wedge, TylerWedge and David Ross had success-

ful rookie seasons and should con-tinue their growth. With numerousnewcomers to the team, includingthree rookie coaches, a goodamount of practice time will bespent on basic fundamentals andlearning the rules and nuances ofthe game. The goals for this seasonare to be as competitive as possi-ble, while growing the skill level ofeveryone.”

Coaches on the GTC: “WithHarbor Beach dropping tennis, weare one of only three schools in theGTC offering the sport. We will stillhave matches with Cass City andBay City All Saints and are activelylooking for other non-league oppo-nents.”
