Let us introduce to you our Inspire programme of activities from the Schools and Colleges Team at Leeds Trinity University. We have developed a package of events designed to assist teachers, advisors, students and their families in making the right decision, armed with the right knowledge regarding progression to higher education. The Inspire programme aims to support you in raising the aspirations of your young people, so they discover their own potential and fulfil their educational ambitions. Some students will already know the path which they would like to take while others may find it more difficult to navigate. Leeds Trinity University are committed to making every student’s personal journey as easy and informative as possible.

Leeds Trinity activities are delivered by an energetic team who provide fun and informative events on our campus, or at your institution, to inspire and inform your students and staff. All of the activities are free and if you would like any help arranging transport, please contact us. We would also welcome suggestions for events and activities and can work with you to develop a bespoke event.

The Schools and Colleges Liaison Team look forward to working with you.

HE Experience Dayfor Year 12 We know the UCAS application process can sometimes be overwhelming for students and so we have developed a UCAS HE Experience Day that covers all the important points on their journey. Below details the content of a UCAS HE Experience Day:

• An introduction to the UCAS process • How to choose a course and university • A student life workshop • A campus tour • How to write an excellent personal statement• Interview skills

Year 12 HE Experience Days are best delivered in June or July to give the student time to think about their options. We can deliver this programme in your school or college if you would prefer.

“We have brought our whole year 12 cohort to Leeds Trinity for the past two years due to the excellent quality of information they receive. We find it kick starts Crawshaw’s own UCAS programme, allowing the students to learn in a higher education environment.”

Student Panels We know that your students really want to hear from undergraduates who can answer their questions about student life and the university experience. We can provide a panel of fully trained Leeds Trinity Student Ambassadors in your school or college to give your students genuine “in the know” answers to all their questions.“

“ Thank you for taking the time to come across to deliver your presentation to our students. This year with the large numbers we have we can do with all the support that we can receive and your work was certainly appreciated. Many students have already put their names down indicating that they would like to pursue a career that relates to sport and sport education, so you may well see some of our students.”

Subject Focus Days for Year 12 Our Subject Focus Days enable students to make informed decisions about our course content. The visit to campus would include course related information and taster sessions as well as the opportunity for a workshop of your choice, e.g. student finance, personal statements, applying to university.

“It was a pleasure to see the students so enthused by the activities arranged for them by the staff at Leeds Trinity. This has resulted in students being more confident in visiting other universities, seriously considering Psychology at higher education and applying to more local universities they may have otherwise not considered. This was a very successful day for everyone concerned and well worth the time and effort.”

“Student Ambassadors

“Last academic year I really enjoyed getting involved with local schools and helping to raise aspirations and participation in higher education. As I am from Leeds I can put forward a local student perspective which has been helpful in student life workshops. I am really looking forward to an exciting new academic year as I love meeting new students and helping them with any questions they have about higher education.”

Claire Wakefield is studying Primary Education at undergraduate degree level and is a valued Student Ambassador for Leeds Trinity.

Ambassadors can answer questions

We value the knowledge and experience of our students and we understand that they are our best resource when working with schools and colleges. Our Student Ambassadors have come from a variety of backgrounds. This allows them to communicate to your students on a unique level, giving their own experience of the journey into and through higher education.
