Polar has designed the world's first wirelesswearable heart rate monitor.

The company was founded in 1977 by SeppoSäynäjäkangas, an electronical engineeringprofessor in the University of Oulu.

Polar heart rate monitors give training guidancebased on ECG-accurate heart rate.

Company's products combine knowhow in sports,physiology, and electronics.

Polar employs 1200 people worldwide, has 26subsidiaries globally, and operates in more than 80countries.

IndoorAtlas IndoorAtlas has invented geomagnetic hybrid indoorpositioning technology.

The company was founded in 2012 by ProfessorJanne Haverinen and four PhDs in computer science,as a spin-off from the University of Oulu.

Company’s technology utilizes Earth’s magnetic fieldand its anomalies, and smartphone’s built-in magneticsensor.

Geomagnetic positioning allows to accurately pinpointa location inside a building.

The service enables indoor search, wayfinding andproximity marketing for greater user satisfaction.
