The Distribution of Water – The Water Cycle

Water on Earth is constantly cycling through periods of solid liquid and gas.

1. Evaporation – From Oceans, Lakes, Land Plants, Animals etc.

Powered by energy from the sun

2. Condensation – In the Atmosphere air cools and moisture condenses eventually falling as precipitation (Rain or Snow)

3. Precipitation that falls on land may be 1. Used by plants and animals2. Run off into oceans, via lakes streams and rivers or as

ground water 3. Evaporate back into the atmosphere
