Generally DVDs fromthe UK are encoded for region 2, and those from the USare region 1. Specialist audio/video suppliers can adviseyou on the availability of DVD players which can screenDVDs encoded for regions other than region 4.

You will need to satisfy yourself that the DVDs in thiscatalogue will play in your DVD player prior to purchase.Refunds or exchanges on the basis of region incompatibilitywill not be accepted.

About the KitsThe kits are made by various manufacturers, and arechiefly Japanese (Imai, Bandai, etc.) or English (Comet,Shed, Reshape etc.) These comments will be necessarilybrief, and certainly won't cover everything. Novicemodellers are strongly recommended to consult any of thespecialist modelling magazines for more information onconstruction and painting techniques - particularly ifassembling one of the more challenging kits! 21st CenturyMarketing recommends Science Fiction and FantasyModeller International.

Generally, the injection plastic kits are the easiest toconstruct and paint. These are your "Airfix style" 'sprue'part kits, where all or most of the parts are plastic and themethod of manufacture generally means that your modelwill almost assemble itself! Resin kits are recommendedfor advanced modellers. These will often need more workthan for an injection plastic kit to achieve a similar endresult. Small resin parts can be quite fragile and may needminor repairs prior to actual assembly. Vacuum formedplastic kits consist of sheets of plastic that have beenmoulded in the vacuum forming process. You usually haveto cut the parts from the sheets before construction cancommence. Good results can be achieved, but again werecommend these for advanced modellers. Vinyl kits arefairly easy to assemble, usually consisting of only a fewcomponents. Some cutting & trimming is normallynecessary. The white metal kits, or kits with white metalcomponents, are similar to the resin kits in that the partsare usually solid (metal in this case) and fairly robust. A"super glue" style adhesive is needed for assembling these.Filling putty of one kind or another is usually handy whenassembling many of the kits, especially resin and whitemetal kits.

None of the kits or figures are pre-painted unless otherwisestated. This does not apply to "toys".

21st Century Marketing isn't a "hobby shop", and we don'tcarry all the various tools, paints and other bits and piecesyou might want to help you construct your kit. We suggestthat any local hobby shop will probably have what you want,and in most cases will be able to provide expert advice aswell.

If you purchase a kit and subsequently feel it is beyond yourmodelling capabilities the kit can be returned for refund orcredit, providing the kit is in absolutely as new condition -you will not be able to return the kit if you have removedparts from sprues or have commenced construction!!Special Orders may be subject to a 20% stocking fee.Important: none of the kits are suitable for children under 6years, and some have white metal components whichcontain lead.

About the VideosAll videos in this catalogue are brand new, original, libraryquality PAL VHS tapes. Most videos are imported, and theprices of these reflect the shipping costs and exchangerates involved. 21st Century aim to keep costs down whenwe can. Unless otherwise indicated, we endeavour to keepall videos in stock all the time, with extra copies of the mostpopular titles. We do not carry NTSC videos.
