Formatting Guidelines• Limited fonts: Arial, Helvetica, Tahoma, Futura, Times New

Roman, Lucidia Sans

• Avoid using white text or links because it’s difficult to view. Use only dark font colors. Limit of two colors.

• Should not scroll more than two screen lengths.

• Should not scroll horizontally.

• Graphics should be used judiciously.

• Size limitations to pictures: 980 pixels x 500 pixels.

• Animated GIF files should be used sparingly and be small.

Publishing Guidelines• Check pages regularly to ensure links are still valid.

• Time sensitive information, such as calendars, school events, etc. should at minimum be updated monthly.

• The following student information is ok to use on a web page with parent permission:

• Student’s picture or work with first name and last name. (example: Jane Doe)

• No other personal information is allowed such as address, phone number or email address.

• Comply with FERPA.

Posting Student Photos/Videos

The Communications Department has verified that schools/teachers can post pictures on the web as long as they are in compliance with FERPA.

D = The district has permission to release only for school related communications and publicity.

N = The district will not release for any reason (student’s is excluded from yearbook).
