INDIVIDUAL NEEDS ASSISTANT AND MSA

Downs Infant School Part-time (2 days pw ) - 10 hours INA pw + 2.5 hours MSA term-time NJC point 14-17 (Grade B) and 9-13 for MSA (Grade A), pro rata

We require a part-time individual needs assistant to support a statemented child. The child has complex needs and is currently in Y1. We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

� Experience of working with young children in a school or pre-school

setting, preferably as paid employment.

� A basic understanding of the school curriculum for 4-7 year old children

(Foundation Stage and KS1).

� Ability to relate well to 4 – 7 year olds.

� An interest/experience in special educational needs.

� Being patient, friendly, supportive and flexible.

� Possess initiative, elbow grease and a sense of humour.

� Ability to work within a team.

� Makaton if possible, although training will be given.

The job is initially temporary for two terms, and will hopefully be extended after that. Hours are 8.45am – 12.15pm and 1.30-3.00pm. To start ASAP.
