Caretaker Location: Greatfields School, St Marys, Barking, IG11 7TD Salary: Scale 4 £22,377 - £23,607 Hours: 35 per week (split shifts) 6am-9.30am and 2.30pm-6pm Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week We are privileged to be building a school at the heart of the Gascoigne community. Greatfields opened with 100 Year 7 students in September 2016 and will grow to become a 10 form entry school with 1800 pupils, including sixth form. We moved into the second phase of our purpose-built new accommodation in September 2019 and will have approximately 750 students across Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 in September 2020 when we will open our Upper School site in Thames Road Barking. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, responsible person to work within the premises team based initially at the upper school site in Thames Road. The successful candidate will ensure that the premises and grounds are kept safe, warm, cleaned, properly maintained and will be responsible for the security of the site acting as a registered key holder. You will need exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to deal tactfully and positively with students, staff and members of the public. The ability to follow clear instructions is essential, as is the ability to coordinate contractors under the guidance of the Senior Caretaker. There will be the requirement for flexibility and occasional overtime including attending emergency call-outs and covering absences over both sites.
