32Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Survey
Captain Nichola Goddard School
3334 TTFM SurveyTTFM is an online survey that allows students to give their input into school improvement initiatives in an anonymous way.
The TTFM survey includes measures around social/emotional outcomes (e.g. student engagement, emotional health), physical health outcomes (e.g. physical fitness, risky behaviours), and drivers of student outcomes (e.g. quality instruction, classroom context).
The survey also allows students to give their thoughts and feedback in an open-ended question response.
This survey is administered twice during the school year.
3435 TTFM SurveyOur Target: 85% of student responses indicate that learning experiences are engaging and meaningful to them.
Grade 4, 5 & 6: 71% of students in this school were interested and motivated; the Canada norm for these grades is 71%.Missed targetGrades 7 & 8: 37% of students in this school were interested and motivated; the Canada norm for these grades is 37%. Missed target3536 TTFM Survey
According to the system and national data, Interest and Motivation (along with otherindicators of engagement) markedly decline as students progress through middle school.
We aim to be an exception to the patternIn order to increase intellectual engagement, educators will need to challenge and alter some of the long-standing structural features of schools, such as teaching arrangements, approaches to instruction, school and class schedules, the ways students are grouped for instruction, and assessment strategies. 3637 TTFM SurveyOur Target: 85% of students indicate involvement in the assessment process
Our Question: Do you have opportunities to set learning goals and evaluate your progress toward those goals?

What assessment practices are most effective from the student perspective?3738 TTFM SurveyOur Target: 85% of students indicate that teacher feedback improves learning
Our Question: Do your teachers provide you with information that helps you understand how you can improve your learning?
