CHARTER SCHOOLS We are opening a new school facility this year. Our school will be at the old Tubman Elementary School on Lakeshore Drive. Please pray for a smooth transition for our faculty, students and parents. Mr. Jeff Homan, Principal – Main Street Academy (College Park) Thank you of always keeping us in mind. Please pray for wisdom and discernment of the leadership team. We would also like prayer for safety of all of our stakeholders this year (parents, staff, KIPPsters, board members). Thank you again, we appreciate you! Noemi Pavon, Lower School Director – Kipp South Fulton Academy (East Point) Thank you again for keeping Latin College Prep and Latin Grammar School in your prayers. I ask that you pray for our schools to have a successful and safe school year and that the Lord watches over our staff, scholars and families. Ms. Erica Minor – Latin College Prep and Latin Grammar School (East Point) Thanks so much for this. At this time we would like to pray that Fulton County will award us the Charter petition. That has not happened yet. Dr. Jeanne Rast, Education Specialist – Potential Hapeville Charter High School PRIVATE SCHOOLS My request would be that Woodward experience a safe and successful year molding students into the people God would have them be. Blessings on you and your ministry. Dr. F. Stuart Gulley, President – Woodward Academy Thank you for this outstanding gesture and opportunity of giving praise for our schools and students. As we embark upon the challenge of educating our youth, we must recognize that we can do nothing without Christ Jesus who strengthens us. We must give all honor, glory and praise to Him. I am impressed by your reverence and diligence. Thank you for including St. Stephen Christian Academy. Among all else, we are asking God for an increase in enrollment. As Jabez, we pray that he will increase our territory. We will be praying along with you. Ms. Wilhelmina Shanks, Principal – St. Stephen Christian Academy Please pray that the light of Christ burns brightly within each of our students, parents and faculty members at SJE. May our school be a place where everyone is welcome, respected and valued. May our teachers teach with passion and promote learning that is purposeful, joyful and leads all to see the beauty of God’s creation and the endless bounty of His love. May we work hand-in-hand with our parents, the first teachers of our students. May we offer our best work, talents, and gifts in service to God, and may we touch the hearts, minds and souls of our students so they may personally come to know, love and serve God. May God always be the center of all we do at SJE. Many blessings to you and your prayer warriors Ms. Karen Vogtner, Principal – St. John the Evangelist Catholic School (Hapeville) Thank you so much for reaching out to Discovery Montessori Academy. There are a few things I would like prayer regarding: 1. Prayers for me---I need wisdom and direction beyond my own as director of the school. I need to know how to staff the building, and support the teachers and all staff, parents and the children. I also need to continue to build a positive rapport with our Head of School. 2. For each family at Discovery (staff and parents) I request prayer-----so many transitions happen in a school year within families and these things impact the lives of the children we serve----illness, job losses, deaths of loved ones in their lives----I ask that prayers be lifted up in advance that we will know as a team at the school how to love and support our families during those times. 3. Overall operations/finances of the school/growth, etc.: There are a few spaces left in our toddler program---please pray that we will be able to fill them, and that the school will continue to grow. We have a few projects we want to do outside on the grounds----please pray things will fall into place. 4. Health/wellness of the children----it is common that with children come "cooties." :-) However, I always pray the Lord will keep major, significant illness/disease away from our student population and staff members. I also pray for the emotional/mental health of everyone as well, as that is equally important! As a Christian, I know it is important to have a larger perspective than what you see/do day to day. I so appreciate your church reaching out to us. You have no idea how much it means to have someone praying for Discovery Montessori Academy. Ms. Emilie Cartwright, Director – Discovery Montessori Academy (East Point) HOMESCHOOL Each year (if not each morning) brings a new set of parenting and teaching challenges for both the teacher and the taught. An awareness of the big picture amidst the onslaught of minor difficulties and major challenges requires so much perspective, wisdom, and grace. Certainly we covet your prayers and our prayers are also with each of you in your particular circumstances as well as our community at large. May our Heavenly Father teach and bless us all this year. Allen & Michelle Buffington, Teachers/Parents - Homeschool
