Orientation for the New Parents

by Farrah Therese Matabalan

Last June 28, 2008 we had our orientation for the new parents. This was the first orientation wherein MGMS pupils delivered the point of reference. Each selected pupils were assigned to say something about the school. First, we sang a fellowship song entitled chuwi-chuwi then the invocatory song was led by Christian Butlig, grade 3 pupil and Clanzy Datoy, a preparatory pupil. Some selected students lead the Philippine National Anthem, Bohol Hymn and MGMS Hymn. Patrice Marie Visaya, a gr. 6 pupil and at the same time President of the Student Council of Leaders, gave the welcome address. It was then followed by Francy Matabalan and Mary Jeremy Cahilog, gr. 5 pupils who introduce the new and old teachers of the school. Then, Abigail Dianne Arce, a gr. 4 pupil, summarized the brief history of Merne Graham Memorial School. Another grade 5 Jeselle Isabela gave the mission, vision and goals of the school followed by Patrice Visaya and Farrah Matabalan, gr. 6 pupils announced the calendar and activities of the school. Meet the new faces of MGMS

White Beach by: Faith M.

Oh what a white sand

My Great FatherAnd waters so blue

by: Francy M.Waves kissing the shore

Birds flying up high.

I have come into this world

In the most unexpected timeBeach is one of our Nature,s best

You gave me life and its giftChildren enjoy playing

You let me see the beauty of the universeIn the white sand

Some are bathing in the sun,

You give me strength, hope and loveand others in the water.

You share with your unconditional love

You share with me your dreams and aspirationsThe breeze so cool

Of what you want me to be when I grow up.That refreshes our mind

It helps us forget our problems

You taught me how to love, share, and give

It can relax our soul.

You taught me how to build dreams

And you taught me how to accept defeatEvery one of us

And rejoice when I wonEnjoy going in the seaIt can make our heart

How I wish life has no ending

Filled with happiness.

But its nature of life

Yes! Life seems beautiful but yet so cruel

And thats the magic of life.

Yesterday by Gelai

Thank you for the good life you offer

Thank you for bringing me into this world

Under the vast and starless sky

Thank you for everything and

I found the darkest moment in my life

Thank you for being ONE GREAT FATHER.

The moment which I am luckyTo stay in this world of trickery.

Fail To Say I Love You

I want to laugh someone is envy

by: AngelI want to smile someone is angry

I love someone, somebody seize it forcibly

Each time you render a smile, I thought that was mineIt seems everybody deprives me to be happy.

But it was just a stupid joke that you want to remind

Each time you glare at me, I thought there was a feelingIf only I could shout to everybody

But it hurts to know that it was a feeling of rejection you want to criticize. If only I could stop the time and hold you closely

Ill say it clear with deepest sincerity

Each time you say hello, I thought there are no goodbyesYou hurt my burning feelings gravely

But promises arent contracts and soon teardrops fall from my eyes

Each time you left me, I thought youll return back and get meThough yesterday you hold my arms tightly

But chance never happen, Ill just face the reality. And carry all the pain that Ive experienced roughly

But yesterday have passed and gone away

Each time I think of you, I thought we will last foreverVanishing all the pleasing memories suddenly.

For a sudden moment it seems you walk further from me

Before Ill let you go, my heart wanted to let you know

But as I look straight in your eyes, I fail to say I Love You.

Why do we cry when we peel onions?

Onions send out an irritating substance when we peel them. The onion has an oil containing sulphur which not only gives it its sharp odor, but also irritates the eye. The eye reacts by blinking and producing tears to wash it away. That is why we cry when we peel onions.
