CULTURE

Being a young Department, much effort goes into setting up of different processes that are

already in established B-Schools. Various student-run clubs and committees have given complete

freedom to develop such processes and thus the culture of the institute. Such freedom helps the

students in developing their own thought-processes and more importantly cultivates the team

learning and initiative taking spirit.

COURSE CURRICULUM

Taking in view the constantly changing needs of the industry efforts have been

made to make the curriculum one of the most comprehensive ones in the

country. Various new courses like Inner Development and Importance of Indian

Society and Culture have been made compulsory part of the curriculum. NIT

Rourkela is the only B-School under most NIT’s which offer deadly combination of

Technology and management.

Why SOM, NIT Rourkela?

6

SOM-NIT ADVANTAGES

SOM-NIT follows a semester pattern and offers Dual specializations

with six courses and four labs per semester. For some courses,

adjunct faculties from industry and academia are invited to deliver

lectures. SOM-NIT consists of the right mix of students from different

engineering disciplines, different geographic locations and diverse

experience in the corporate world, thereby giving the students an

opportunity to gain multi-cultural skills and share experiences about

the workplace with each other.
