Our undergraduate and postgraduate courses are accredited by Creative Skillset and the British Computer Society. CONFERENCE

MayAn international festival of animation and games – a unique collection of world-class speakers combines with exciting workshops. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with some exciting new editions to the programme this is a not-to-be-missed event for students, professionals and enthusiasts.

A final year exposition celebrating the next generation of expertise in animation, games, computing, journalism, film and the arts. Attended by industries seeking to recruit bright new talent to their organisation.

An annual computing conference aimed at industry practitioners and academics, focusing on a single theme. Previous themes have been data science and cybersecurity. By popular demand the theme for 2019 will be artificial intelligence. The conference is an excellent networking and knowledge-sharing opportunity.

An exhibition of first year work from all subject areas within the School of Computing, Media & the Arts. Spot potential in these fledgling stars of the future.

A showcase of our second year students’ talents to employers seeking to fill work placement opportunities or identity the rising stars entering into their final year. Exhibits range from digital creative and technical fields, media and the arts.

Student Futures Week offering students from every year across all our disciplines a diverse, flexible and interactive programme of employability activities. Inviting employers and recruiters to come to Teesside to share exciting developments and work opportunities within their organisations, plus opportunities to meet and network with our talented students and experienced staff.

Our animation and games students from ExpoTees go on tour to exhibit at one of London’s prestigious studios (previously Double Negative, MPC and The Mill). This event is attended by recruiters in animation and games industries by invite only. The exhibition is followed by a tour of the London studios.

AprilThis annual computing conference is attended by girls from schools across the region to spend the day at university and engage with all aspects of computing from creative to technical. Animex international festival of animation and games is the largest festival of its kind in the UK, offering a unique blend of talks, workshops, networking events, exhibitions and screenings across a whole week in May.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year the Animex programme is set to grow with some exciting new additions which open the event up to a larger market. A unique, one-day exhibition which showcases the next generation of digital talent from over 100 second year students. It’s also an excellent opportunity for companies to recruit students for a year-long placement or shorter work experiences, putting organisations in front of students as potential employers. Businesses are invited to deliver industry targeted talks and Q&A sessions.

ExpoTential is our showcase event for first year students of animation, games, computing, media, journalism, film, fine art and performing arts, and an opportunity for them to practice their professional and communication skills while presenting their projects.

ExpoTees London is our southern chapter of ExpoTees. Our animation and games students exhibit their work in London in the premises of one of the industry studios (previously Double Negative, MPC and The Mill) to animation and games professionals from a large number of studios seeking to recruit high calibre graduates.

The annual ExpoTees conference appeals to businesses, educators, industry practitioners and academics looking for an industry insight into topical computer science issues. It’s also an opportunity to find out how to collaborate with Teesside University, to access staff expertise and knowledge, and identify talented students and graduates.

Hello World has been attended by girls from schools across the region for over a decade, to spend the day at university and engage with all aspects of computing from creative to technical.

We aim to address the shortage of women in computing related careers, by encouraging and enthusing the school girls enough to consider selecting computing based subjects at GCSE or A-level, and to consider a career in cybersecurity, IT, networks, animation, web development, mobile phone software, games development or something else.
