Students have had an opportunity to preview the books and make a “Wish List” of titles to take home. Parents are welcome to come in with their children to view and purchase books 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after school. The fair is being run by some of our grade 6/5/4 students. Please see Mr Williams, Shakira, Mckayla or Kylie for any enquiries. SWIMMING Next Monday 14th October will see the commencement of our 2013 swimming program. Online Achievement Awards
As the year comes towards its end it is important for us to recognise those students who have worked extra hard to achieve results in their learning. We have had two fantastic online learning programs students have had access to this year both at home and at school. We are recognising two students from each grade that have used either the Mathletics or Reading Eggs programs consistently or have achieved really great results within the programs. It is with great pleasure the school awards these students with the Online Mathematics Achievement Awards and the Online Literacy Achievement Awards. Well done to:

Whole School Writing
Last term students began their investigation into procedural texts. Moving through rotational activities, students followed different procedures to create, make or perform. Students were then grouped for our Whole School Writing Program from their responses to questions about procedural texts. Currently within writing groups students are continuing to investigate, deconstruct and plan their own procedural text. Later in the term we will host another Celebration of Young Authors, with more information to come. A special mention to Jack McGrath for his exceptional understanding of procedural texts, their purpose, textual features and
ability to reflect on the skills used when reading and following a procedure. Jack also worked cooperatively with his partner,
displaying patience while modelling and explaining the steps to be carried out.
