To protect everyone involved, we now have drop off and pick up car lines with teachers, Mr. Reardon, and administrators delivering children to their cars. This fall weather has been kind to us! Outdoor classrooms are being used for class time or lunch. Students are getting used to being in the fresh air under a tent, in the designated outdoor classroom, or on the black top. Specials teachers move from class to class in two week rotations with carts of their materials, and lots of energy! Instead, there was a new way to safely celebrate. Parents lined up their cars along the inner circle and sides of the parking lot decorated to the Halloween max! Apple FestivalApple Festival

The Apple Festival has always been the culminatingevent for 2nd grade after a few weeks of lessonsabout the science, nutrition, and history of apples.Students prepare apple products to sell to the entireschool, which gives them the opportunity to add upsales and practice making change. This year, 2ndgrade had to have a different type celebration, whichwas done outside. They still included collecting ballotsfor everyone's favorite apple type and will spend nextweek graphing the results. See more pictures here>>

Some traditions can't be altered by Covid-19 and the PumpkinDecorating/Red/Gray Contest went on! The only change wasthat the pumpkins lived under one of our outdoor classroomtents rather than Gloria's Garden because of the rain.Nevertheless, Gray team won this one!

As most people know, Meadowbrook's teachingstyle includes a lot of "hands-on" learning. Duringthe presidential election week, Kindergartenlearned all about the election process. Theyprovided ballots to everyone in school asking themto vote which cookie is better, the Oreo orChocolate Chip! Staff and Faculty come and go pretty frequently at most schools but at Meadowbrook, it is

unusual to have significant personnel changes. 2020 has been unusual in many ways, though,

and we were lucky to celebrate a number of retirees and bring in some great people. T he retirees

were: Debbie Fletcher Marcolina (34 years), Debbie Fletcher Marcolina (34 years), 5th and 6th grade Language Arts teacher, JoeJoe

Gaines (24 years),Gaines (24 years), 6th grade teacher, Gail Cohen Gail Cohen,(14 years)(14 years) Kindergarten teacher, and CarolynCarolyn

Director of OIA (8 years) departed in May for a job that was closer to home and Gretchen VanGretchen Van

celebrated them all at the last faculty meeting, outside with masks and boxed food. We wish them

all well!

PUMPKIN PATCHPUMPKIN PATCH

The Early Learning Division students stillhad their Pumpkin Patch trip, but to theMeadowbrook School pumpkin patchinstead! Fun was had by all of thesepumpkin pickers!

All School Food Cupboarddonations going to the Interfaith FoodCupboard began with Kindergarten. Eachgrade will have the opportunity to collect fora certain month, but anyone can contributeto each class collection.

Community Service continuesfor 1st grade with the collection anddistribution of pet foods andnecessities to the SPCA.

6th grade continues to determinewhether or not Fridays will be GrubGrubDays!Days!

In honor of our annual MeadowbrookGolf Classic, Mr. Oser set up a PEPEdriving range driving range on our grounds.
