Principal’s News Year 6 Graduation
It was great to see the Year 6
student’s graduation on Wednesday.
Thank you to all our Year 6 students
for an amazing year and I wish you
all the best next year in High School.
Thank you to the Year 6 Teachers for organising a great
graduation under COVID restrictions.
Class Lists 2021
Class lists for next year will be placed on the pin boards
near the Tuckshop under B Block. If you are unable to
make it up to the school please contact the office and we
will be able to let you know your child’s teacher for 2021.
Our Teachers finalised classes on Tuesday afternoon.
Please note that there were some requests that were
not able to be accommodated. The Teachers that had
the students this year thought long and hard around the
mix of students, class sizes etc. as well as requests.
Booklists and SRS information
Booklists and SRS information has been sent home to
all students and families. We will also have booklists and
SRS information on our school website for parents to
access.
No Tuckshop Orders Next Week
There are no Tuckshop orders being processed next
week. Roz will be very busy cleaning the tuckshop and
getting ready for next year. Thank you to all parents that
have supported the tuckshop this year as our sales have
been very good.

L.E.M Phonics – Vowels saying their second
sound
Last week I discussed the importance of syllabification
and the role it plays in spelling. This week I will
introduce you to a basic rule about vowels:
Vowels usually say their second sounds at the end of a
syllable. For example: ‘a’ makes /ay/; ‘e’ makes /ee/, ‘o’
makes /oa/ and ‘u’ /yoo/.
We generally use a dot to show where a syllable break
is. Have a go at adding in the syllable breaks for these
words. Add in a number 2 above any vowel making
their second sound like this:
she open music paper
table motor item
sky
Feel free to email me any questions you may have
about LEM phonics. My email address is

If you have a younger Brother or Sister and they would like to start banking, they are quite welcome to do so. Mum, dad or caregiver just need to take your brother or sister’s birth certificate and their photo ID to the bank, or they can go online to open an account for them. They will also receive the Rewards and Certificates; just put their banking wallet in with yours in the gray bag.
