Android Phone
The Android has proven itself a force to be reckoned with, offering a
legitimate alternative to the all-mighty iPhone . If you haven’t heard,
Android is a Google-backed operating system for cell phones. The code
is free, open-source and easy to alter. Users can create their owninterfaces and control many kinds of hardware, plus it has over 10,000
Android apps .

The Electric Eye
MIT researchers are developing a microchip that will enable a blind person
to recognize faces and navigate a room without assistance , helping the
blind to regain partial eyesight. The chip, which is encased in titanium to
prevent water damage, will be implanted onto a patient’s eyeball. Users are

required to wear special glasses fitted with a small camera that transmits
images to the coils surrounding the eyeball titanium-encased chip, which
fires an electrode array under the retina that stimulates the optic nerve.
Ipad
The ipad was revealed January 27, 2010.
Apple’s recent announcement of the ipad was easily the most anticipated tech news
of the year. The ipad certainly had the majority of news-seekers “wowed” whilemany others were disgruntled.
The apps that come loaded with ipad were designed precisely for the ipad. These
native apps fully use the extra-large multi-touch screen. These apps will work from
any direction you turn the unit and it helps to make the ipad unique as well asuseful.
The ipad’ bigger sized screen presents web pages in the way you would expect to
see them on your home computer or laptop – rich, vibrant and with few
compromises. It makes the web user experience a pleasure. This is another unique
point of the ipad. Information and web pages could not be clearer. The other

feature that you get – similar to the iPod – is the ability to use your fingers to zoom
in, scroll, choose menu options and much more, stuff you already do on your iPod,
but now you can do it with more meaning and purpose! Email also becomes a
much different experience versus what you my have previously experienced. There
is a new level of flexibility in how you can view and what you can do within the
iPad’s email application.
The Smart Bullet
.
The XM25, developed for the U.S. military by Alliant Tech systems, allows
soldiers to measure the distance to a target using a laser range finder, dials

in exactly where the bullet should explode (over or past walls, the corner of
buildings) at precise distances. At a cost of $30/round, the bullets are
equipped with microchips capable of registering distance according to the
number of times they’ve rotated .
Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology (sometimes shortened to " nanotech") is the study of manipulating
matter on an atomic and molecular scale. Generally nanotechnology deals with
structures sized between 1 to 100 nanometer in at least one dimension, and involve
developing materials or devices within that size. Quantum mechanical effects are
very important at this scale.
Nanotechnology is very diverse, ranging from extensions of conventional device physics to completely new approaches based upon molecular self-assembly, from
developing new materials with dimensions on the nanoscale to investigating
whether we can directly control matter on the atomic scale.
There is much debate on the future implications of nanotechnology.
Nanotechnology may be able to create many new materials and devices with a vast

range of applications such as in medicine, electronics, biomaterials and energy
production. On the other hand, nanotechnology raises many of the same issues as
any new technology, including concerns about the toxicity and environmental
impact of nonmaterial, and their potential effects on global economics, as well as
speculation about various doomsday scenarios. These concerns have led to a
debate among advocacy groups and governments on whether special regulation of
nanotechnology is warranted.
Tri-specs
You have your phone, your iPod, your headphones, and your Wi-Fi

Enter Tri-Specs. They come in built-in Bluetooth wireless headphones for
an MP3 Player or cell phone, retractable ear buds, built-in volume control,
and even voice control. For $200, you can be the coolest kid on the block.
The KS810 Keyboard Scan:
This keyboard with a fully-integrated scanner takes product hybridization
one step further. The KS810 keyboard contains a full-color, 600dpi scanner
that lets you drop scans into most online applications. If keyboard scanning

Amatoya
This is a light and fast car that can drive through rugged terrain and
penetrate a fire. The car has an insulated cabin that can withstand
temperatures of more than 600 degrees. Its high-powered water cannon
can be operated from inside, so crews can fight fires from the middle of a
blaze. (It is made in Australia)

Interior Compositing Device
It is a bin that decomposes organic waste quickly without having to worry
about the smell. When the aperture is opened and closed, the body of the
bin rotates, creating heat inside. This process causes the waste to
decompose. It can also filter the compost so it can then be used as
fertilizer.
